Well last night, I saw The Outlaws in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, and Honeytribe opened, and I must say I was pretty impressed. I wasn't to familiar with his stuff, but Man, even though he's Gregg's boy, he looks alot like Duane!

He did a cover of Please Call Home and ended with Midnight Rider, which he apparently doesn't play too often, and during one Jam, he snuck in a bit of "Jessica"

I think it was pretty cool he paid homage to his last name and heritage, but its pretty cool he's trying to forge his own path.

Nice words JC!! All of Gregg's children who have the musical talent are doing their own thang!!! I've seen Devon usually do one ABB song per show but you got two, very cool! Would have loved to hear him sing "Please Call Home" that Jessica tease is a nice addition to throw in the mix which is again usually added. You can pick up his CD Torch at HTN... it's a good one!

How were the Outlaws? At this point I don't know who's left for originals.

I saw Honey Tribe open for GAF in 2006. They were fun and they were good. Had a chance to talk with Devon after his set. He's a pretty down to earth kind-of-guy and loves what he does.

Come on out to So Cal real soon Devon!

Yeah, Devon is a cool cat, for sure. His music is different from his dad's, but that's a good thing that he pursues his own music, his own voice. Torch is a great album, and the song Torch, itself, is a rocker!! I am very fond of the instrumental, Mahalo, also. I'd encourage anyone who has a chance to see Devin and Honeytribe to do so. He represents the Allman name very well!!

Are they back at the Half Moon Club? The show I saw there in Dec was incredible and I too agree, great bunch of guys to hang with and fantastic musicians. It was Greggs 60th that night and they did (with some slight prodding from a couple of Canadians) One Way Out and Midnight Rider, but Melissa was a fantastic tribute to his Dad. On acoustic with Jack accompaning him on keys. Enjoy it brother.

I've not heard Devon peform "Please Call Home" live. Maybe we can talk him into that one at Stone Mountain. Devon's playing the Rock-A-Benefit (Lexie Kaye of 97.1 the River benefit for the Wounded Warrior Project), family-friendly event on the Memorial Lawn (laser show lawn) at Stone Mountain Park on August 23 with Tommy Talton Band, Tommy Crain & the Crosstown Allstars, Andrew Black and Lefty Williams on Saturday, August 23, 1 to 8:30.

I've not heard the Outlaws in years, but I know Billy Crain, Tommy Crain's brother is now playing with these guys. Sounds like a killer show. Thanks for the review!

Hey Susie.....busy today????

Devon is a great person. He sure has a strong stage presence. He also has a great group of musicians playing with him. I recommend seeing them if they play close to your town. You will not regret it. They are a bunch of down to earth guys loving what they do. We have seen them a few times and they always come out and mingle with the fans after the show. Sometimes Devon lets the band play on and he will mingle with the fans. Very fan friendly group.

You find some live shows on

I was at the Sellersville show last night too. I had taken my dad for his birthday/Father's Day gift because he's a big Outlaws fan. When we were on the way home, he said, "Wow. That was an incredible show. But I really wish it had been The Outlaws opening for Honeytribe instead of the other way around." I've got to say, I agree with him 100%. The Outlaws were good, but they get repetitive after awhile. Fantastic show. I got some pretty good pictures that I'm in the process of uploading now. I"ll post a couple when they're done.

Oh...and was it a cover of "Please Call Home?" I thought it was Honeytribe's song "When I Call Home." But I could be wrong.

I believe this was during "Mahalo," which was the opener.

Steven Duerst on bass

Jammin without Devon

I'm pretty partial to this picture...

These were a couple other people I met at the show.

I've got more pictures, but these are the best. I've got pictures of the Outlaws too, but their stage lighting was awful so I couldn't get too many good shots. If you want to see them, let me know.

WOW better bring a suitcase of clothing in case they don't like what your wearing............I bet the bouncers wear all black attire too, walk around with radios and Michael Jackson microphones........what a joke.

I wish the Neighborhood Theater would had gotten Honeytribe's show..They are so relaxed at the NT venue. They do not have a bunch of folks thinking they are BAD @$$e$ running around thinking they own the place.......

I've only seen him in concert once, but I'm gonna say it. Devon's voice the way he sings sounds like Duane's. The way he moves, his mannerisms are also like Duane's. Even between the songs, the way he expresses himself, it's like Duane was. The way he plays, well okay he's not at the level we all remember Duane to have been at, but he's got that same thing in him, that desire to set the world on fire.

When we all heard Derek Trucks people said ew, ahhh, did Duane re-incarnate in this guitarist? Well no he didn't, but he must be pleased listening to him.

If he did/does re-incarnate, he would come back as an Allman. There's no way he'd come back as anybody else. Devon's got something in him very special. It wouldn't surprise me if it was a little more than Gregg's genes.
