Hey Everybody, I am happy to say that I am starting back in the Coast Guard tomorrow. I am going back to the Ready Reserve on the Eastern Shore. It has taken me an additional year of wrangiling to get this done, after last August when I turned down orders to go to Mobile to fly twelve days straight at a time, then had a dobel inguinal hernia.

I'm going right back tot he same chair I sat in when I was active duty. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to go back & resume my career in the Coast Guard. I received my orders on Wednesday May 16, & Darcie lost her job the next day. Like many of you said, ond door shuts another door opens. We are so happy that things have thus far turned out this way.

I can't thank you all enough for your prayers & thoughts for my family as we have undergone a fantastic journey.

Peace~! Brian

Hey Linnie, Thanks for posting!

One other thing, I actually got back in to my uniforms too.

Weight has been an issue for me since I was a kid. I'm back on my Darcie diet- oatmeal & coffee for breakfast, deli meat for lunch (no bread), & a salad with meat & vinegar dressing for dinner, eight 8 oz waters or Crystal light Lemonades a day. Carrots & almonds with coffee for morning snack. Running two miles three to four days a week & easing back in to calisthenics, which have been a lot more difficult since the hernia.

keep putting out the love my brotha and it will come back to you!

re: oatmeal, the slow cook kind will keep you feeling full longer than the instant, don't know if that helps your cause any!
