http://music.blog.ajc.com/2017/05/30/gregg-allman-set-to-be-buried-in-macon -this-weekend/

“Gregory’s wishes were to be laid to rest next to his brother. About a year or so ago, a good Samaritan in Macon reached out and said she owned the 10 adjoining plots next to Duane and Berry and offered to sell them at the cost she paid. Gregg was touched by that, so we acquired the 10 slots,” said Michael Lehman, Allman’s manager.

Prior to the burial, a private 1 p.m. service will be held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel.
Fans, however, are welcome to line the procession route from Snow’s – which also handled Duane Allman’s funeral arrangements in 1971 – to the cemetery.
Bill Snow, owner of the funeral home, said that Cherry Street, in front of the building, will be closed, but those who wish to pay their respects can line the street beginning at the corners of Cherry and First streets. The procession will run from First Street to Riverside Drive. Gregg will be buried on Saturday alongside his brother Duane and fellow band member Berry Oakley at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon.

Lehman noted that Saturday night, the celebration of Allman’s legacy will continue at the storied Big House in Macon, with about 200-300 close friends and family. Music, naturally, will be the focus, with an outdoor stage being set up. Members of Allman’s solo band will be present, as well as Allman Brothers Band drummer Jaimoe Johanson. Dickey Betts, who has long been estranged from Allman, is expected to attend the funeral.
“He and Gregg connected in the past few months, and (Dickey) indicated he wanted to come,” Lehman said.

Are you coming to town for the funeral?

Hoping to reunite with many peach pals this Saturday in Macon. Sad occasion, but let's rejoice in the spirit of Gregg!

With the amount of time Dickey spent there writing songs, he should have one available.

Oh how I would love to be there but I'm in California. I will one day make another pilgrimage to Macon and visit Rose Hills, every fan no matter how far needs to make this journey. I'm having a tough time getting through this, the tears just happen suddenly.

Nice way to include the fans and Macon community. My daughter has a ballet performance and only has 2-3 per year, so I will be with family. I will be there in spirit for sure.

I wish I could go so bad. It's hardly an hours drive from my home in Albany Ga but tomorrow is our 16th wedding anniversary and it would be wise for me to spend the weekend with my young bride. As sad as this occasion is I hope that all of our brothers and sisters that can go do go to show love and support and have lots of fun at the Big House after the celebration of life as I know Gregg would like.

In Macon now at the Dunkin' Donuts, getting my tea and a bagel
People are starting to line the streets to pay their respects. Everyone I have
encountered this morning says it's a sad day indeed. I'm wearing my
Beacon t-shirt so not hard to figure why I'm here.

I watched the live stream from Rose Hill but had no idea what was happening. Everyone filed in and then out ten minutes later before the casket had been interred.

Good to see Jaimoe, Marc and Derek there. And Dickey, of course, but... did the airline lose your bag, man?!

Nice touch to allow the fans to enter but, as I say, it wasn't clear what was happening.

As requested by Allman's estate, mourners wore jeans to the funeral instead of suits.

I am glad he was there to honor his bandmate, and he was able to speak with Gregg before his passing,IMHO I think thats all that matters. All good in my book.

Did Warren not attend? I see Mule starts a tour in Spain tomorrow, and I haven't seen his name as far as visitors go.

Yes they are in Spain. His wife Stef went. She spoke about it very emotionally yesterday on sirius.

It looked like a very laid back burial. Relaxed and fitting in it's own way. I saw Berry's son there on the hill to the back right of Dickey, Duane Betts, & David Spero up against the wall. There's a walk up video of Derek, Susan, and their daughter followed by those mentioned above along with Jaimoe and his family. Somber clip.

Did Eric Clapton attend and perform?

Someone on facebook claimed this. I did not hear him perform but I heard Dickey perform on Elizabeth Reed.

From the article I posted above.

Among the sentiments shared was that Allman “healed himself with music and he healed the world with music.” The gathered flock sang the hymn “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” before pallbearers Elijah Blue, Devon and Michael Allman, Trucks and Middleton carried the coffin out of the chapel.
