Wet Willie - "Drippin' Wet" - "That's Alright, Mama"
Here, the Mobile home boys take an Elvis (via Arthur Cruddup) tune and make it their own. Sets up the rest of the show (album), too!

In the Evening - Led Zeppelin
Weird, eerie drone from violin bow captures your attention, builds suspense and then BOOM! that riff kicks in and you're off.
Scuttle Buttin' - Stevie Ray Vaughan
A flash of notes I've never heard duplicated and I've seen many people try, including scores of guitar players on youtube. No one gets it right. I've stopped trying. I just enjoy the fact that Stevie could. What an energetic way to start an album. it's almost like he was saying "You thought 'Texas Flood' was good, listen to this!"
Do not panic!

Listened today to Notorious Byrd Brothers.
It kicks off with Artificial Energy and a big blast of brass! An announcement that here was The Byrds as you haven't heard them before and it was followed by sound effects, phasing, string arrangements and a great bunch of songs.
