Thread: Feeling a little melancholy

This is the time of year where you would be waiting for the Beacon announcement.
They left us with such great memories throughout the years.
(Last two week are still open at the Beacon, just sayin)

The only thing that would brighten up an ugly winter for me here in the northeast were thoughts of March at The Beacon. The Beacon run was an annual adventure for me culminating in the actual shows. It would start in December with a Peach o Gram from Lana . Ticket buying and who would accompany me to the shows was always an adventure . Uncomfortable requests from acquaintances I know that just wanted to say they have been to The Beacon in March were coldly rejected . I knew who I wanted to be at The Beacon with and it was limited to a select few family and friends who understood what the month of March meant to me . Of course I will miss the shows but more importantly the comforting thought that The Brothers were still alive and kicking has kept me going more than anything else for the last 25 years.
I still look at The Beacon Calender periodically and notice that there are still many open dates in March. When those dates finally fill up the cold reality will set in that indeed the Annual Allman Brothers residency at The Beacon is over.

The venue that hosted more versions of the band, than anywhere else over the course of the band's 45 years -- the trips in from out of town, the meet&greets at the hotels & elsewhere, obviously the shows -- can well imagine why Beacon goers dug it so much

I guess we are at the end of a music era. Now the Grateful Dead have announced their farewell concerts in Chicago in July. Wish they chose Warren instead of Trey

I thought about this the other day, it would've been time for tickets.

Great memories on the forum and moogis and being in NYC for the shows. I never would've gone to NYC had it not been for the Allman Brothers Band.

Alot I have to be thankful for from this band and great times had by all!

Sure do miss all of the Beacon Talk that would normally be talked about at this time.
But I do not miss playing the TM game for tickets.

Trying to get tickets for multiple shows takes a toll on you.

If I close my eyes and click my heals together, will I wind up at the Beacon for a ABB show?
