Thread: Guitarist the filled in for Dickey early 90's Merriweather?

MuleFace - 2/4/2018 at 05:24 PM

I think it was Jack, but something is making me think that it was someone else. I think it was 1990, but it could've been a year or two later.

It was after an incident at a hotel, if my memory serves me correctly.

Thanks!

You may be thinking of David Grissom, he subbed in for Dickey a few times.
1993 may be the year /show you are thinking about.

David Grissom subbed on 8/3/93, as noted here

Dickey's last show was 7/30/93. Jimmy Herring and John Popper subbed for Dickey on 7/31, then the infamous Zak Wylde show on 8/1. I think the band was in a pinch for those first two shows, and then Grissom subbed for a couple weeks. Jackie P. then subbed late August through September until the tour closed. There are a handful of shows that the database doesn't reflect Dickey's absence, but none of the songs with Dickey on lead vox were played, so it's just not properly noted on the database.
