JULY 27 1973, AND I REMEMBER IT LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY. THE BROTHERS CAME ON LATE IN THE DAY AND PLAYED FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE HOURS AND HOURS. WE WERE FOUR YOUNG KIDS(16-17) AND HAD NEVER BEEN TO ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. WE TRAVELED FROM RINGWOOD, N.J. AND PARTIED EVERY INCH OF THE WAY TO WATKINS GLEN! IT REALLY TICKLES ME TO KNOW WHERE I WAS AND WHAT I WAS DOING(KIND OF) TODAY 29 YEARS AGO. ONE THING I REMEMBER.... RICKS FATHER HAD LENT US ONE OF HIS COMPANY VANS TO TAKE THE TRIP IN, AND ON THE WAY OUT OF THE AREA WHERE WE HAD PARKED ALL THESE PEOPLE KEPT ASKING FOR A HITCH OUT. WE FINALLY RAN OUT OF ROOM IN THE VAN SO PEOPLE CLIMED UP ON THE ROOF. THE FREAKIN ROOF CAVED IN PARTLY...OH WELL. WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM OTHERS ABOUT WATKINS GLEN MEMORIES. |
