Re: Allman Brothers Band: New York, NY (Score: 1) by BarrySmith (cryptical70@yahoo.com) on Nov 24, 2008 - 05:07 PM (User information | Send a message) | The Fillmore East run that time forgot. I am sure these shows were just as amazing as the March 1971 classics. Unfortunately, recordings never surfaced. |

Re: Allman Brothers Band: New York, NY (Score: 1) by BarrySmith (cryptical70@yahoo.com) on Nov 24, 2008 - 05:11 PM (User information | Send a message) | Some interesting support acts. Canned Heat was playing without Al Wilson. They really should have called it a day after Al died a few months prior.
Dreams was a jazz fusion combo featuring Billy Cobham on drums, The Brecker Brothers, Douglas Lubahn (who played occasional bass with the Doors) and John Abercrombie. They released two LPs on Columbia records before sailing away into obscurity.
Toe Fat was a small time combo. They also supported Derek & The Dominoes around the same time. The lead singer apparently gave a decent Mick Jagger impersonation. |
