Frankie Toler
Frankie Toler played drums with the ABB from November 17, 1980 - January 23, 1982. In late 1977 he joined up with Dickey Betts & Great Southern. They did a lot of shows with Lynyrd Skynard, .38 Special, and other like-hearted bands. In 1979 The Allman Brothers Band
picked Frankie up to play drums with them after a legal dispute with Jaimoe. Frankie loves and respects Jaimoe very much, considers him the jazz portion of ABB, but was happy to answer the call.
In 1981 Gregg, Danny Toler and Frankie decided to go their own way and formed The Gregg Allman Band, which lasted for over 10 years. From there Frankie was inducted into the Marshall Tucker Band. He then returned to Gregg Allman & Friends, but the association did not last. Dan & Frankie formed the Toler Bro's and toured all over the world, including Japan, Italy, Korea, Panama, etc. They have a new cd that will be available in Feb. 2002 called Year of Tears. Toler is the group name.
Frankie wants to give great thanks to "my loyal friend and brother Dickey Betts. He found Dan and I. He's a gas to be on stage and tour with ... "
