A True Renaissance Man

Chuck Leavell joined the band in November 1972 when the band decided to add a second keyboardist rather than try to replace Duane with a second guitar player. Chuck's first recording with the Allman Brothers was Brothers and Sisters, where he immediately had a big impact with his solo work on Jessica. He continued playing and recording with the band through the end of that particular era in ABB history, in 1976.

Chuck has established a name for himself by playing with many, many great musicians over the past twenty years. Aside from playing with the ABB and some related solo projects, he is best known currently for his recording and touring with the Rolling Stones, where he is sometimes called "the sixth Rolling Stone."

A true Renaissance man, Chuck's interests don't end with music. He is an award-winning tree famer and is the proud co-owner with Rose Lane of Charlane Plantation in mid-Georgia. There's a lot of cool info and photos on Chuck's Charlane Plantation web site. You can book a hunting trip or just take a relaxing country vacation there.
