I can't stand those Neccos candy discs, they taste like chalk. I always loved getting pixie sticks, nothing like pure flavored sugar for Halloween!

Hate!

Love!

Always liked to get a pack of Smarties, Sweet Tarts or big chunk o bubble gum.
Those glued in the wrapper taffy balls Bhawk has photoed...good reason to kick in a pumpkin when you are a juvenile delinquent.

Worst: Bit o Honey
Best: Reese's or Butterfinger (I buy these along w/ some others and hold them back. Either the older kids get them or the real old kid does!)

Agree!!! Those things give candy a bad name. Favorite? As a kid I always liked butterfingers and smarties (not necessarily at same time ).

Those who gave out apples in my neighborhood were the ones cleaning toilet paper, eggs, and shaving cream off of their properties the next day. Then they would have the best candy the next year!

My favorites would be either Twizlers or Snickers bars.

My least favorite would be the dreaded Halloween apples. I love apples but they are just wrong for Halloween.

You can't go wrong with a 3 musketeers. I went to one house on halloween one year, & they gave out cans of pepsi instead of candy.

One year, about 20 yrs ago, I ran out of candy, and gave each kid two quarters. I thought there was going to be a riot they liked it so well.

I also dig Smarties...

St. Joseph, Missouri's own Cherry Mash...

When I was a kid, one of the ladies down the street always gave out Valomilk...

Caramel Creams were a big hit back then too...

Somebody always gave out a ton of butterscotch...

And, of course, Brach's Neopolitan Sundaes...

What was that coconut part made out of, anyway?

A spool of fishing line in your pocket with a hook tied on it. Stick it in the pumpkin while on the porch, then pull it off the porch going down the drive. We were creative in our delinquency.

Actually, these are my favorite but they didn't come individually wrapped when I was a kid. I could probably OD on these things!

Here's a positive story on the apple/razor balde thing.

For Halloween we've been making 250+ chocolate covered apples for many years , 3/4 dipped in chocolate and half dipped in orange sprinkles.

people come from miles away by car to get them ... I kid you not .

We put our name and phone number on the ice cream stick that is stuck into the apple.

We just finished making them today .

I'm going to make some sort of hot toddy type of drink for the adults. I need to experiment with a recipe.

We usually have at least 25 -50 people in our driveway at any given time , last year I counted closer to 75 people.
