Hey guys!

Anna here and I was just wondering what other bands you peachy ABB fans think put on a great show. I know I love going to see Kenny Chessney. Sure, he doesn't "jam" like the Brothers do, but I'll tell you what---a great time is had by all. He has so many great songs and the vibe is so great!

I don't even mind being the only Black chick in the building!! lol

Jaimoe of the Allman Brothers Band has a real hot project going called Jaimoe's Jassz Band.
I saw them in June and they were great (started the show with Wayne Shorter's "Footprints"!!).
A great night of music. Other great shows I've seen in the past few years: Return to
Forever (featuring former Miles Davis alumni Chick Corea and Lenny White plus Al Di Meola and
Stanley Clarke), Rush, Zappa Plays Zappa, Experience Hendrix Tribute (featuring Buddy Guy,
Hubet Sumlin, Eric Gale, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers,
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, BB King, Jeff Beck, Farm Aid 2008, Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick,
etc.....

Other than the ABB, I would drop everything to see Derek Trucks, Wilco, Rush, or the Genesis tribute band The Musical Box.

I don't think you can go wrong with anything in the Dickey/abb family. Trucks, Pedro, Mule, Honeytribe, BK3w/Oteil. Same for the Grateful Dead family. Phil, Ratdog, Furthur, DSO. Widespread Panic will knock your friggin' socks off too. I guess the Dead, Panic, and Dickey/abb would definitely be my favorites in the "Jam Band" world.

I have seen some freakin' awesome show's from some other artists though, and I try not to miss them either. John Fogerty, Steve Winwood, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, ZZ Top(although they only seem to play about an hour and 20 mins these days), Steve Miller Band, Doobie Bro's, Pink Floyd, Dave Gilmore or Roger Waters, Mark Knopfler, damn.....I know there are a lot more.

I still need to get out and see the Boss, McCartney, NMAS and Hill Country Revue. Bunch more in this category as well.

How many shows has Dickey ruined by being drunk ??" Listen to Peakin at the Beacon" Dickey could come out, lay down on the stage and you'd still say he put on a GREAT SHOW !! He always had the TALENT to be a GREAT guitarist. He just didn't always care enough.

I don't know, I haven't seen any like that. I'm not saying they haven't happened, but I haven't seen any. I've seen Dickey about 40 times w/ the ABB, DBB, and DB&GS and have only seen one bad show, but he wasn't drunk, it was just an outta synch show by the whole band. I've seen several poor performances out of the current abb, believe me. But that was just my opinion and I'm sure there were others at the show that may have loved it. Furthermore, I like Peakin' at the Beacon and don't think it is as God horrible as many do around here. Different strokes, I guess. I also saw two shows that year at the Beacon and both were freakin' great. Maybe they should have used those two shows to make Peakin' at the Beacon.

The guy who posted his opinion of who to see is a good and honest man. I've met him. If he recommends something to someone, I would believe him. Also, if he saw a bad performance out of someone he would state that as well, but he would do it in a tactful manner.

Do you think any other member of the band has ruined some shows by being too wasted? Sh*t happens. They are all human and f*ck up every once in a while. Go or don't go, but I'll put my $$ on Betts every time and usually come out a happy concert go'er.
