Here's a good shot. I found other clips from that gig and pics without Joe. DT is playing through the same supers and the one closest to him always has a pedal. There are also some pics online of him using a Fuch's gain pedal lately. I am not judging him or anyone else for the gear they use, but there is a lot of not so accurate info on his rigs out there. This clearly shows that at least one of his amps has AlNiCo Tone Tubbys and what appears to be the Weber speakers in the farthest cab (?). Those look to be ceramic.

Oh, also... It is not uncommon for him to have speakers swapped out for a show. People are often lending or giving them stuff to try out. If you see him using something one night, do not assume it is always there.

See my post at derektrucks.com. There is more visual proof of DT using Tone Tubbies (Kofi too) than any other speaker. I have never seen a pic of the Webers for Pyles in an amp he is using. I have no clue what he uses in his Vibrolux Reverb or Princeton Reverb.

He has used a Radial amp switcher (which is a pedal) as recently as this April, but that isn't a "tone" thing.

I am sure, that Derek is always trying this or tweaking that. However, I don't think he uses much more than a volume pedal or tuner plugged up between his amp and guitar.

Check the pictures. There is a boost pedal in line. I am not judging, as I don't really think using pedals, etc. is cheating, but there is strong visual evidence.

hey i've seen some of the pics too - and think he likely has a (couple?) Fuchs gain pedal (at some gigs) ...... Yep, I'm a big fan of "plug straight in", but *one*, just one thing came to mind: (especially if the context is SG > pedal > Fuchs amp like in The Bros) it could simply be a need for (duh!) more gain at lower stage-volume - he needs those tubes'a'screamin' for kickass harmonics and such - but doesn't wanna go deaf, ya know?

Also -- IMO, if it's a Fuchs pedal - it's *absolutely* no different from simply pluggin' into a Fuchs amp (with a tweak).... so .... no problem there

(am i 'wrong', gearheads? ) a few extra feet of (good) cable .. i never liked the idea of a 9v battery "involved with" the signal path - but would there not be 'true by-pass' of some sort - sorry, i don't know what it's called - like a direct-to-amp signal as well as the pedal line (like an effects-loop?) ? )

haha, heck if I know! ... *and* it SO matters not, haha! 'cause Derek can do what EVER he wants, man ... ... and it's all Good.

Peace.

First I learn there's no Santa Claus or Easter bunny.

Now you're telling me Derek uses pedals?
