i love it when the crowd or someone from the audience is caught on tape with a great comments or shout of approval. i have three that come to mind - who has any more?

1. evening with: Dickey starts introducing Blue Sky and starts, "We've got a long time to go this evening ..." and a guy shouts, "and we're ready, we're ready!" love it!

2. 3-20-00. blue sky again. A taper says to another taper right before the franklin's tower intro, "Derek's on tonight."

3. 11-22-05 dtb at new brunswick nj. Encore of Spirit in the Dark, Derek winds the song to a silent point before the band finishes the climax of the song. During the 2 second silent point, a guy from the crowd yell, "Bring it home, come on" and the band kicks in on cue. Just wonderfulness.

who's got some more?

I always crack up from the Doors live "Roadhouse Blues" from An American Prayer.

Where he tells some chick about his sign and then laughs at her or something.

Been a while. Will have to dig it out to hear what he says exactly.

It's something to do with Zodiac signs . He goes into his usual banter , and then tells the young lady " I don't believe in that stuff ." Great mention by the way .

Audience members who think they are part of the show are one of my pet peeves. I pay money to see and hear the artist not some clown in the audience.

Sorry, money is tough to come by these days and if I'm going to spend a healthy chunk of change to see the ABB, that last thing I want is some moron yelling Whipping Post throughout the show.

The reason we're all here : Play all night !

Iron Maiden Live After Death : At the end of Rhime Of The Ancient Mariner ( I think )
some guy hollers "Mother****er !!!!"

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Soundstage : Petty winds up a tune and says "Thank you very much ." a lady on the front row says the same back to him . He then says "Well, you're welcome ."

I've got a Floyd bootleg, I think it might be the "Ivor Wynne" set, and at one point during a Dark Side tune I think it was, somebody yells "Play the first six albums!" or something like that.

From the DTB Live at the Georgia Theater album at the beginning of Sahib Teri Bandi - Maki Madni you hear 'Louder, please'. I love that.

It's been awhile since I've listened to it, but I do have an ABB show where the taper gets into it with a loud fan nearby. Something like "hey, why don't you keep it down?" and the guy replies, "I'm gonna yell as loud as I want, if you don't like it go to the opera!."

On "The Song Remains The Same" right before Bonzo starts the drum intro for 'Rock & Roll" it sounds like someone says "OK Let's Go ! "

There is a Beacon show from a few years back that has some girl talking through the entire show. I don't know what was going on, but at one point you can hear her yelling "Security! Security!"

There's another Beacon show from around the same time where you hear security saying "give me the pipe or go to jail"

That is my choice too...... I always wondered who that person was and if he realized he was caught on tape.

I had an audience recording of the Phish show from 7/16/94 in Vermont at Sugarbush and in the breakdown in the middle of Harpua, Trey is talking about how Vermont is the greatest place in the world and this kid yells "GET RUDE TREY! IN VERMONT YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT!". That **** ALWAYS kills me.

My other fave was from a Dave Matthews Bands how in '95 from MSG and before some song you hear some kid tell his friend, "No, don't light that yet! Save it for the majestic one". A few songs later, the "majestic one" (forget the song) is about to kick in and you hear him go "Wait for it... Wait for it... YES! THIS IS IT. Spark it up broseph". That one also kills me!

1. I watched a DVD of Mountain from the little theater (forgot the name) in Petaluma Bay, CA. This guy walks up to Leslie West who is in a quiet part of a solo - hands him a cell phone and says, "will you say "Hi" to my friend, John?". Leslie takes the phone, screams into it, "HEY JOHN! F__ YOU!", then tosses the phone to the back of the room.

2. I have a Sea Leavel recording that some kind soul sent me (It might have been a radio broadcast?). The band comes out for an encore and Chuck (I guess), says, "This is a love song written by Frank Sinatra's brother-in-law!" - then they launch ito a killer rendition of "Statesboro Blues".

On the Genesis box set "Archive #2", as the intro is playing for the live "Man on the Corner" a guy screams, "WHERE'S THE REST OF THE BAND?!??"

And the guy that yells "WOOOO!" at the perfect time after the line "Lord have mercy" on the Fillmore "Stormy Monday."

I got a Randall Bramblett Band WaneeFest show recorded by Paul Rossi and at the end of That's Your Secret, someone lets out a LOUD rebel yell. Paul brought the sound level down a notch or two for it when he transferred it from recorder to CD.

The best put down I ever heard from the stage: On a Doc Watson album with some live cuts ( can't for the life of me remember which album) and some guy keeps calling out for a song and finally Doc says "I remember my first beer too buddy!"

On the audience copy of Jerry Garcia Band 3/11/78, during a very quiet part of Knockin' On Heaven's Door, a guy in the audience yells out "Nice ass Donna!" followed by a chuckle from the audience.

Or what about Duane introducing Liz Reed as "Dickey's new tune called 'I've Got Peanut Butter In My Pubic Hair'." I can't remember the date. A show in 1970 at the Warehouse I believe.

Another Phish mention... On "A Live One", I think, at one point you hear Trey say to an audience member, "Are those real?" followed by a short pause, then he says "Nice!"
