"Under rated"... Funny thing is..."Success" is based upon acceptance by "mainstream" America..

Is that what you really want here? .. For most of the music we here cherish, is appreciated for just the opposite reason...Think about it...If the ABB was mentioned in the same sentence as "The Beatles".. or "Nirvana".. or better yet "Fleetwood Mac"...

Would they still be the band we all love?

Playing a Randall Bramblett Band CD right now. Not exactly a household name, but a killer band!

HotlantaTim touched on this the other day. To paraphrase - we seem to think that the Allman Brothers is not a world famous band, when in fact they are! Maybe no airplay, but a lot of folks come to the shows! Duane and Dickey have influenced countless guitarists of various genres.

"Underated" (to me) conjures up bands whom when mentioned in coversation would cause most people to say, "who?". Just my opinion.

For stone cold rock and roll, West, Bruce and Laing. On the psychedelic side, Phluph and Sacred Mushroom. On the prog rock side- Camel. Another mention would have to be the Alice Cooper band during the "Killer" period.

"Love" never got the attention they deserved IMO.

"Forever Changes" is one of my all time favorite records.

and should be in the conversation with "Sgt Pepper" and "Pet Sounds" for innovation.

Thin Lizzy, and I'd second, UFO, as well.
Both more influential than their record sales would seem to indicate...

Flat Duo Jets as well.
Take a 2 man band playing psycho-rockabilly, change the drummer from male to female, get a bright color scheme, let age 10-12 years, and viola....you got The White Stripes.
