Somewhere along the the line I came in to posession of a CD someone made of just excerpts of Duane solos. There are like 29 trks on it. The question I have is what show was the Dreams solo taken from. It's an excellent crisp soundboard of a killer Dreams solo that I don't think I have. The other song is a short clip of Key to the Highway with a harmonica in the background, which I'm guessing is from an outtake of Layla sessions?

Anybody know? I assume this CD was offered at sometime in a vine.

Only I can remind for Dreams you mentioned is from Brewerfield House show.
However, don't you have this show? I think you already have this show, so it may be wrong.....

Dreams from Atlanta Pop July 3rd 1970 (official release) is certainly one crisp, snappy version. It may be this. Actually this might be my favorite version of Dreams.

Duh, I didn't do my homework. I checked my archives, it's Dreams from Archival Release 9/19/71 Stonybrook. Have not listened to it in a long time. That's one of the things I love about this place though. There are always ABB folks out there to help. Thanks, sorry about the goose chase. As far as the Key to the Highway question, I'll track down my Layla box set that has the out-takes, it's probably on there. Thanks again.

Do you have a special "Layla" box set because I don't have Key to the Highway on mine

No, I don't know what it's from. It's only a 30 sec. clip. Maybe it's not "Key to the Highway". Is there an outtake of Duane with a piano, harmonica, etc.. doing "It Hurts Me Too"? I think he did with the Dead, but this sounds like the Dominoes. Hard to tell, like I said it's only 30 sec. Oh well, If I ever run across the Dead with Duane in my mixed-up out-of-order collection I'll see. No big deal.

yeah Duane does "It Hurts Me too" with Clapton on the DATD box set..its about a minute and a half or something. It is amazing, but I get frustrated when I hear it because I know there is more than those few minutes.

Bingo, that's gotta be it. I don't have the DATD box set. Thanks bthoma1!

No that wasn't it. I just figured it out. It's from Ronnie Hawkins, Down in the Alley. I was listening to this when lo and behold Duane starts to solo. Mystery solved. Thanks y'all.
