I just found out tonight one of our daughters has the h1n1 virus. Her son had it a couple of months ago and it's making the rounds of our other grandchildren. Our two other grandsons had it, our granddaughter, Sandlin has it and her husband and baby have had it. The baby did better than the rest. It sent one of our grandsons to the hosptial and the other two have been sicker than they've ever been before. I'm not completely sure that it's not what Johnny had in April that put him in and out of the hosptial for about three months.

Anyone else experiencing this mess?

I dont know what the hell I have, but Ive felt miserable all week. Congestion, low grade fever, nausea, sneezing, runny nose, a little coughing. Went to the Dr. yesterday and he called it allergies (Ive never had allergies ever). Im no Doctor, but allergies dont involve nausea, low grade fever etc. Im going to a different doctor today since the first one apparently was a quack. My wife told me that it was the same Doctor that mis-diagnosed her pneumonia as 'allergies' a few months back. Im not saying what I have is swine flu because its not...lacking quite a few symptoms for that.

Ann I hope everyone down your way gets better. Good luck and keep us updated.

Hope everybody feeling ill , starts feeling better quickly and those that haven't caught a bug take the precautions to minimize being infected.

Ann - hope your family gets well as soon as possible. There was an item in our local paper yesterday that announced the flu shot clinics would be postponed for a few weeks. Not sure that this is good news.

Thanks everyone....I'm thinking they're all going to be okay but please don't take any chances if you think you might have this mess. Some around here didn't have much of a problem with it and some have been leveled by the mess. One of the symptoms that has been pretty common with what's been going on here is a very high fever that can't be brought below 101 even with tylenol, etc, body aches that can be almost unbearable and in a couple of cases, including Johnny's and our grandson's, rapid dehydration and delirium. Pneumonia is also a byproduct of the flu as it can set in when you're in a weakened conidition. ST...definitely go see another doctor becaues it can start out like that and then turn on you in a heartbeat!

As others have suggested....wash your hands a lot, carry hand sanitizer when you're out, cough into your elbow and if you fiind you're in a room with someone sick....head for the door! I peel out so fast I almost leave skid marks.

Just got back from another doctor...surprise! I have bronchitis. He also said their parent office was aware of this other doctor and his inability to diagnose correctly. Now Im on actual antibiotics and steroids for the problem...I should be getting better soon.

My daughter had it in the spring. She had a high fever for three days. We kept her out of school for the week but she was basically fine in three days.

Nobody here has had it, but I'll probably do something this year I don't usually do, get a flu shot. Just to help keep it from spreading everywhere.

Hope everyone is feeling better now, bigann.

Glad you found out what was wrong with you, ST.

I know. I'll get both. More to make sure I don't catch it and give it to some elderly people I'm around.

Very sorry to hear about your family Ann, I hope they get well very soon, you also Squatch. I have will get my regular shot in about two weeks and will get the other when it is ready. It may take a little longer for the second shot because they will want to make sure the young children and older folks get it first.

If I felt it coming on, after the vitamins and herbs, I'd go in the bathroom get it nice and steamy and spray some lysol which I would inhale. That stuff kills rhinoviruses and would probably work on flu too.

I've gotten so paranoid about picking up the flu that I use the hand sanitizer a lot and have even caught myself rubbing it aournd my nose in case germs are trying to get in that way. Pretty funny when you think about it, and the alcohol will definitely set you free but it makes me feel 'pro-active.'

Nothing wrong with that whatsoever, its a good idea. Getting the bug sucks. I hit the germacidal cleaner constantly and have for years.

There are governmental entities that created this flu, it is not a natural occurence, therefore be very careful of putting anything in your body related to this. I can go back in the archives and put up the info from the scientists who say so, but I would have hoped some of you would have followed along on this.

Update from the house of pestilence....granddaughter still in the middle of it and sick as ever and her husband is back down with round two. So far the baby hasn't been caught up in the second wave. Our daughter who had it last week came to town for the weekend and was feeling better and she's back in the bedroom with a rising fever...it's doubling back on her now....was hoping it wouldn't happen this soon. I'm disinfecting everything constantly and keeping Johnny away from her as much as possible. I'm just refusing to get it. Maybe once veryone gets back on their feet we'll be set for the winter....keep an eye out folks....this can be some really nasty stuff!
