Yes, she seemed like a nice lady....... sad to see go.....

I feel like I'm seeing a parade of who was on my folks black and white TV screen (they had B&W till 73), but like a parade of people I remember from being 5. 8 10, 12, 16 years old, Ed Sullivan, old Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, etc..... but this parade of death, not so tragic as just their time had come after a decent life..... and it saddens me to think the ones around the bend...... I don't want to see some we know will come.... no names please.... and it rings the bell of our own mortality, and makes it all feel like a fall wind, and a few leaves rustling down the gutter line......

like the flash of the lightning, the blink of the eye........

but the grass still grows on the hillside........

Listened to those early Peter, Paul and Mary lps over and over when I was in kidergarten on a single speaker phonograph my sister got from S and H Green Stamps.
The last PBS special I saw was very enjoyable. We lost another good one, thank fully she had more time than may others. Can't imagine those songs I listened to as just Peter and Paul.

Farewell to a beautiful voice. Thanks for the songs, the inspiration and the memories. The heavenly choir just got one voice sweeter.

Here is some great vintage footage of them playing at one of those huge anti-war rallies in Washington DC. This one was in April 1971 at the height of the anti Vietnam war sentiment.
I'm surprised how our recent wars didn't get protests as big is this.

Rest peacefully, Mary Travers. And thank you for the beauty you brought into the world through your lovely voice.

*sigh* ... Tony, you read my mind and expressed the feelings that live there.
