I thought they were going to add in 2 Angel O dates, but this makes better sense. The Angel O can always be booked. I think the place is too small for Mule even if it is lovely. :-)

Very happy about this. I wish they would tell you the VIP package pricing though so we can figure out if it's worth it.

$450.00 is way too much for me. I'll just have to chance it with the general sale and hope for the best.

I guess that shoots down the idea of an Atlanta NYE gig at the Fox.

"Historic return to the Beacon"?
$450 is outrageous, no matter who it is.
NYE in NYC is not my idea of fun.

At least there is actual value packed into that VIP package...unlike some acts where all you get is the ticket and some party where you "might" see the star...

But having said that, $450 is out of my league for sure.

Value:
2 tickets @ $75 = $150
2 download @ $20 = $40
1 t-shirt @ $30
1 poster @ $25
Total = $245.

Do you think the other extras are worth $204? Sounds like Mule is taking the low road followed by others- package a few items in with tickets in order to sell the tickets at scalper prices. But they are not scalping, because the other items are "valuable".

I really think I could cut Mule some slack on this one though. They do alot of shows throughout the US without the inflated ticket prices.

True, as does the DTB.
But this is taking advantage of the fans as I see it and the real fans who want to be close to the band will not be able to because those first 10 rows will be reserved for this promotion.

Most of the hoytey toyteys in the 1st 10 rows will probably leave early for their champagne extravaganza leaving alot of empty seats, slip the usher a 20.

Guess it depends on how much you plan on eating/drinking at the Exclusive Soundcheck Party (which does include some additional Mule music it sounds like). I won't be in NYC on NYE but even if I were I wouldn't be paying $450 for these 2 shows. Regular sale maybe (not much difference between row 10 and row 11 IMO). Don't recall seeing anything about regular costs for this.

Sorry to see that this Promo also includes the Loge Seats. Because of health issues Im not able to stand for 2+ hours like i used to, so Those Loge seats are my favorite seats at the Beacon. For the 2003 run I purchased two 2nd row Loge online the day before the 12/29/03 Show. That year they did three shows. I remember Sonny Landreth opened for my show. We were sitting adjacent to some of his Peeps.

Would consider the package but I can not commit to 2 nights. Also not a big fan of NYC on NYE. I live on LI and maybe going solo. Would it be possible to split with anyone? Im really only interested in the NYE Eve show on 12/30.

I was just going to say those prices are from 2005. LOL.

I just paid 175. for a forth row Beacon seat for the Fab Faux. (I made a mistake and looked at my receipts and the ticket was 140.) The Fab Faux, They are great, they are top notch musicians, but they are not MULE. There was a meet and greet. I bought a poster and it was already signed but I finally got to say hello to Jimmy Vivino and thank him for coming out and supporting Mule so many times. And I got a great great seat to see a great great band who do great Beatles music. So I was only unhappy that I go to the city so late that I had to pay for parking.

The Beacon is a very different venue than it was and that is how it is. I suspect this is the last year the band will be there. Not because people won't buy at the price. NO because every single first 10 row seats were sold for the Fab Faux and every single first 10 row sseat will be sold for Mule. The problem is that the place is just too stuffy for the fan base. That has nothing to do with the Mule but once we go through yet again another show where people are forced to completely behave like we're are watching an opera well, I bet five dollars it will be the last year. People sat for the Fab Faux and that ain't gonna happen for Mule.

Now I would like to take a shot at the pricing in light of the fact it is 2009, the theater is a top theatre in NYC, yes NYC, not Atlanta, or Chicago, San Francisco (all wonderful places btw) but New York freaking City, a place where billionaires and millionaires reside. A place where it costs 40 bucks just to park your car for a few hours. A place where nothing but nothing is cheap. Especially the labor. (BTW, Patrizia from Ruthies, does some GREAT GREAT food and she should be considered for the catering.)

First 10 rows - night before NYE - $100.
First 10 rows - NYE in NYC - $175 (not far off from any night to see any major act)
Downloads (FLAC format) - 60 (30 each for 2 special shows You want mp3, take off 10)
Preparty and Soundcheck - 50.
T shirt 25
SIGNED SIGNED Poster 25 (signed but no need to inflate for it)
_____
Total 435.

So if you look at it, well the price is in line with what it costs to do this in today's market in NYC. AND IT IS NEW YEARS EVE in NYC. Now if they could throw in a parking lot coupon it would be even better. :-)

I am sorry that people think this is being over inflated. I don't think so. I am more concerned that the side sections more toward the middle to the end of the aisles are going to be sold for the price of a more center seat. THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. If it was me, I would make sure people are COMPLETELY satisfied this year and all the bs from last year will be forgotten. Have too many people unhappy this year and I think that will be a problem over the long haul for the band.

When you consider it all, the promoters, the ticket distribution companies, the consider it dan people and the rest, the most important part of the equation is the relationship between the band and the fans. Keep the fans as happy as you can and all the other mumbo jumbo from the business end of things will fall into place.
