I hope he gets what he deserves, which in my opinion is a lot ... during that Mick Taylor era the Stones produced some of their finest recordings. Hopefully the remaining Stones will do the right thing ... not like they're hurting for money.

He has not gotten paid since 1982 (if that is accurate) and only now he is thinking MAYBE he should sue???

Hope he has 10-15 years to wait it out in court
Mick & keith and their publisher have millions to fight him with and tie him up with litigation for years and years

I fear that this is just idle yap on Mick T's part. He has made similar noises in the past. He does not now nor has he EVER had the financial or legal resources, much less the business acumen, that Mick Jagger has. He could never hope to win this battle.

It is unfortunate, because that band sure did sound different with him. He may not have been the main songwriter but he certainly made contributions. I really respect bands who just credit the whole band and leave it at that.

Precisely, which is why it amounts to a ripoff for Mick Taylor -- maybe he is rightfully owed money, but collecting it? Another thing altogether -- for a reason that has nothing to do with why he's suing in the first place -- sheer quantity of $ and legal resources, able to crush & suffocate any lawsuit no matter how valid -- hard to see why the Stones would be too nasty about it
Mick & Keith may have told him, yeah yeah, don't worry about it, we've got ya in mind..." and then ignored him & that's why it took Mick T this long to sue

Haven't been a Stones fan since Mick quit.

Taylor's reps have already denied that he intends on suing the Stones, and claim a newpaper reporting was looking for an angle for his story:

seemed fishy from the start.

What seems more likely is that the record company could have stopped paying Mick T, the Group would not pay him for the back catalog work. That is the responsibility of the label and publishing companies that issued those songs and the publishing companies collecting those royalties.

he wouldn't be the first artist to sue a record or publishing company for not getting paid owed royalties.
