Pre-sales for the dates below start today (Sept 14) and tomorrow.

These fan pre-sale tickets can only be bought through the store on his website. You have to register there, then purchase.

They're adding a new twist this year to help keep use of these tickets to only the fans on his site. You won't know the exact seat location when purchasing - only the number of seats (up to 4) in a specified location (usually the first 10-15 rows). They'll email exact seat location afterward. Tickets will not be sent, but must be picked up at the box office with appropriate ID of the purchaser on the day of the show.

I went through buying tickets on their site for the 2008 tour, and for each of the four dates I bought I received 1st or 2nd row, so I know firsthand that they offer the best seats in the house straight to the fans - no holdbacks.

Here's the schedule.....

I wouldn't mind seeing Mark, maybe $35 or $40. Heck, maybe even $50, but over $100? No thanks. (I'm referring to the Denver Buell ticket price)

But you do get a cd with that.

Thanks for sharing this, Fuji! Like dferrey, I wish the tickets were not all in the 100 range (higher in some venues! ) because I would definitely love to see Mark. Still thinking about maybe catching this at one of the MiddleEarth venues I see listed...

Yeah, I noticed the steep pricing too. One thing to keep in mind is that these are all the closest, most prime seats. I'm sure there will be some during the public sale for less.

But the pricing comments did make me look at some old stubs. In 2006 at Radio City, touring with Emmylou, my MK tickets we're about $100. In '08 in Chicago I had 2nd row pit seats that were a little over $100. So it seems the pricing is fairly consistent, albeit still too expensive.

Is it too expensive, or do most of us just have memories that go back too far?

Well, I bought two for Chicago this morning, so I guess they got me either way.

I plead the 5th!!! Personally I can see myself paying 100 (although choking while I do ) to see Mark Knopfler because he's up there on the top of my list. Just wish inflation would have passed the live concert business by... (btw - that Chicago show is one I was looking at as a possibility ... great old theater)

Don't worry, Mark is a pretty regular visitor to these parts. He did Chastain in July, 08.

Now Neil Young? I am pissed at him! It has to have been 10 years (CSNY excepted).

I didn't say as much, but my comment was more of a value statement. I paid $150 per ticket to see Roger Waters in Las Vegas a few years back. Roger is someone I wanted to see for many years and probably will never see again. I turned the concert into a vacation and for me the whole package was worth it.

I like Mark, but nowhere near as much so I wouldn't pay anywhere near as much. For someone who likes him as much as I like Waters, it could be a great deal. The Buell is a great place for a concert.

I had tickets for Neil last year and he cancelled the show due to medical reasons (was eventually rescheduled for a time I couldn't make so I got a refund but I would have rather had Neil!!!)

And dferrey - I too am a major Roger Waters fan and have seen him a few times but never tickets over 100.

Hanging out a bit on the Knopfler tickets ... hoping for some cheaper seats.

I hope maybe some more shows are added. I hope he comes to Dallas if anymore shows are added. I haven't seen him live yet & would love to. Also, I think he should reunite with Dire Straits one more time & tour with them.
