Please remember and never forget.

No worries there. It is firmly entrenched and will always be one of those "I remember exactly where I was when I heard..." days

Every time I see 9:11 on my digital bedroom clock I think of it...

it left a permanent scar on all of us....everyday, every moment and every loved one is a gift.....now if it were only as easy to practice it as it is to type it......

Sorry to say that I have some friends somewhere in that collage and luckily some family members that made it out of the WTC in time.

Thinking more of the good times I had with those folks today than of the event itself.

Also remembering the people at the Pentagon and the innocent people on the planes.....

I was several blocks away when it happened. Now I work across the street from Ground Zero!

This morning the streets are filling up with people. However here on the 24th floor of my office building, the events at Ground Zero are miles away. My co-workers are busy doing their regular work, apparently not paying any mind or attention to the events of 8 years ago. I myself will go down later to check out what's happening.

Never will I. Lost some colleagues that day in NYC. Every year it fades a little from the public eye, however, never from mine or our famillies. RIP.

It is a cool, dark and rainy day in NYC today. Dank sums it up. It is the polar opposite of the beautiful, clear, blue skies the morning of 2001.

My heart is always heavy on this day. Not only because of the horrific violence and senseless loss, but because I feel people have forgotten to some degree. For a short time after the attacks, society felt truly connected and treated each other with the kindness and respect that should be the norm. Unfortunately, that feeling seems to have disappeared much too soon for far too many. Simply reading this board somedays I see how quickly people are ready to type a nasty insult to another person because of a differing political or religious view or a perceived dig aimed at the ABB or Dickey Betts. The "us" vs. "them" group attacks begin and the divide widens. At the same time people ridicule or poke fun at those that wish others a happy birthday on this site as if that was a great offense.

It's just a small example of how people have forgotten one of the most intimate lessons of 9/11. Love. Be kind. At least try to be kind - even if it hurts. Sometimes it does take effort. Have you hurt someone you love? Apologize. Did someone offend you? Forgive. Everyone slips. Holding a grudge? Why? Is it that important in the grand scheme? Maybe it is. Though, it probably isn't. Appreciate that someone might be going through some difficulties and offer compassion and support. I've seen that here on numerous occasions and the whole vibe of this place just explodes with warmth. It is a beautiful thing.

Love and condolences to all the friends and families that lost someone on 9/11 in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC and love to us all for having witnessed something so tragic.

Peace.

have some friends who were "near misses" - went to work late that day, etc.
my wife's former assistant was on the AA flight scheduled to LA - she got the job that was taking her there cause my wife turned it down and recommended her.

moment of silence for the victims
RIP

I was begining to roll some roof trusses on a hillside home in the foothills of the Sierras in Northern Calif when the news came on. Got the full brunt of the story when I climbed down. We prayed for the victims and the families right on the spot.
