Mentioned this earilier over on the WP, but I understand some y'all don't venture over there (in a lot of ways can't blame you) but as of Sept 6, I'm severing my internet connection and packing up and heading back home to North Carolina. I've lived in Virginia since 1981, and was stationed at Quantico from 1974-78, but in all time I've spent in the Commonwealth, it's never really been home. Truth is, my heart has always been in Carolina and deep down "I'm a Tar Heel" (with a little "Sand Lapper" on the side, seeing that I was born and lived my early years in South Carolina). I'm sure once I get established back down there (job and home, ect), I'll be back around, but until then I would like thank each and every one of you for the friendship you've shown me over the years I've been around here. And in closing to everyone, I wish most sincerly, "You and yours take care".

Fred,

I know it has been a while since we last spoke. I believe it was the Merriweather show last September. Wow how time flies. I felt a sadness when I read your post. I just wanted to say I wish you the best of everything. You and your lovely have been my concert buddies on a few occasions. My first Allman Bros show(I have such a warm heart for everyone I met), remember Charlottesville, my birthday? Me, you, Alishia, Matt, Jim? You know Alishia still ask me now and then how you are doing. You have been a kind friend and someone I knew I would know at the show and looked forward to seeing and catching up with. You always were the first to start putting a pre-show meet togeather. I hope everything goes well with your move. Please keep in touch somehow. Love to you, Mary Beth and Thor. Safe travels.

Susie

Well, best wishes to you, Fred! I've enjoyed sharing several shows in VA with you. I hope your move works out like you want it to.

And, hey, is that Susie?

As of midnight tonight, my internet service will lapse and I don't intend to reconnect until after I've gotten myself re-established back in North Carolina. So, in time, I'll be back. Until then, my best wishes go out to each and every one of you, thanks for the friendships and the discussions (even the spirited ones) here and on the WP, and to all of you, you and yours take care.

Fred B.

Carolina I hear you calling
I just have to close my eyes and I'll be there.
