Since the Mule just announced dates from 10.23-10.31, that leaves November for some ATL dates and by that time of year it has to be inside.

The Fox is open from Nov. 9 - 18th......Let's keep hope alive.....

Is this for real? Fox calendar shows Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker on Dec 23. If no show, DEL it.

How about a combined show?
Ballet on music of the ABB.
Love to see that choreographics :-)

I'd like to hear Derek on the quick 'Tea' piece in the second act or better yet the slow, seductive 'Coffee'.

Keep the faith people. The ABB has made at least one stop in ATL every year since 1989. No reason to break the string now.

In the meantime, dTb plays Athens 9-16 in the 2k seat Classic Center and plenty of good seats remain.

Has Mule or dTb (Soul Stew) announced NYE dates yet? I know it's not listed on their web-sites, but sometimes word floats out before it's on the web-sites. I wonder whether 4 nights at Philips Arena with WSP is in the cards. I hope not, but seems like the windows are closing on Chastain or the Fox in the fall.

Or maybe a short 1 or 2 week run at the end of the year, kicking off with Christmas Jam and then a couple shows in Macon and 3 or 4 nights at the Fox? The ABB could wrap around the 28th or 29th and still give Mule and Soul Stew a couple nights to do their thing at the Beacon and Fox for NYE.

Just thinking out loud here.

Someone here I trust said Soul Stew was pretty much a given for NYE. It was said in one of the (too) numerous threads about ATL, that a contract w/ the Fox ran through 09. So I'd count on that at least. We usually get official word in late Sept.

Axeman........that was one hilarious reply. I almost spit out my coffee.

That's probably about right. This whole thing pi$$es me off. My positive filter burned out weeks ago.

But there's no use pi$$ing and moaning. Mgmnt will do what they do regardless. I think it stinks tho. People can't drop everything at a moments notice and find vacation time and a stash of money at the last moment. Employers require some advance notice of vacation plans. I'm sure there are many that would and could do this if they'd make the damn announcement already. Folks will have to put in for vacation somewhere and then will be mighty pi$$ed after they've already made comiitments elsewhere out of necessity.

The shows will still sell out and they'll make their money either way, but dedicated fans that would love to be a part of this that have to travel some distance will be screwed.

That sucks.

Thanks to Heath for posting this in Derek's forum. No Soul Stew on NYE. And it does not sound like Derek will be doing anything else during the holidays. Aargh!

I can understand Derek and Susan wanting some family time especially with little ones at home.

No doubt. Time is fleeting... it's wonderful to be able to savor these special times in your childrens lives.

Alright! I didn't know about JJ Grey and Mofro opening, made my night can't wait to see them again, they were great when they opened for the Mule at the Masquarade.

depending on how many Govt. Mule dates they play in Europe in Nov, we might be down to these dates in Dec. at The Fox, the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th. keeping my calendar open for these days just in case.

and Dec 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st. maybe we will get three shows there, but no New Years ( according to Dereks web site ), when ever it is, i will be there !!!
