Hello, I'm relatively new here (I think I may of had a former account, but I couldn't remember anything about it). Anyway, I'm a big ABB fan, thanks to my dad. While the ABB studio records are great, I'm sure most of us will agree that the live shows are the cream of the crop. Anyway, I was looking to pick up an Instant Live show or two from the past couple years from the online store. So, are their any shows that really stand out as the "best"? My favorite ABB song is Elizabeth Reed if that helps. I also love saxaphones, so if there a show in which a great saxaphone guest appears, that would be cool too. Thanks a ton.

check out the HTN site for Instant Lives:

http://www.hittinthenote.com/cart/c-44-abb-live-concert-cds.aspx

Since 2004 they have the "West's Best Packages" which are the top shows of the tour according to Kirk West. I think most here would agree that these are great selections.

You may in find a Liz Reed or two with a sax player sitting in. (2006 Tweeter Center Mansfield, MA for example)

If you like Elizabeth Reed, but want to find a version without the drum solo (JaBuMa), the Pittsburgh show from 06 has it. It is only a 2 disc set, but a very good show with Tom Petty and band sitting in on a few tracks.

In August 2003 Branford Marsalis sat in on sax but not on a Liz Reed.

In Sept 2003, Karl Denson guested on sax during Liz.

Check the live show database.

Pick up one of the Beacon shows from this past March. Oh, that's right, we can't get those until the Moogis subscription expires.

There are a couple of West's Best in '05 that have a Liz Reed with Ron Holloway as well.

Last year's Merriwether post with Ron Holloway was by many accounts, one of the best of that run.

Sans sax, but 10/11/08 ATL is a show really worth having. Not quite 3/26/09, but with similar intensity. A very good Liz to close the first set.
