When I saw the thread title it reminded me of Leslie West when he says, "Too loud for ya? Well, ya better move back cause it's gonna get louder!"

I think Ritchie Blackmore said "I want everything louder than everything else!"

I'm really eager to see this film. I love Jimmy Page, and while his post-Zepp efforts have been largely "eh," I still want to see what he's got. It's hard to believe he has offered the world so little new music over the past decade.

Anyone seen this yet,reviews?

I agree. I am a huge Jimmy Page fan, and I don't understand why he rarely does anything. Lack of desire, right situation, etc.....

Robert has kept pretty active and so has John paul, so I am not sure what is holding Jimmy back.

This looks interesting ... will have to check it out. Thanks for the info! (And I'm thinking great future gift for my brother, who is a guitarist, when it's issued on DVD )

I read an article a couple weeks ago about the movie (on billboard.com I think) and Jimmy said he's gearing up for a "big project" in 2010. Said he's spent most of this year getting everything together and preparing for it, Said he worked up a couple new songs for the film and has got some more stuff ready to go now. Can't wait, saw him on tour with the Black Crowes back in 2000 and it was amazing to see him play live.

I did see the movie on Friday night. It was pretty good but not spectacular. The long and short of the movie is that it features Jimmy Page, Jack White, and the Edge discussing guitar playing with each other. Each of them give some background information about their beginnings and what drove them to play. Each of the them came off as very honest and sincere. Here are a couple of thoughts on each of the three guitarists as they came off in the movie and my opinion of that person.

Jack White- While I don't care for the White Stripes or the Raconteurs, I thought White revealed a great deal about himself. He seems to embrace the creative aspect of music much more than I previously thought. (This was my shortcoming, not his.) He seems to respect his audience and the players who came before him.

The Edge-if you love the guitar playing of Derek Trucks, Duane Allman, Jerry Garcia etc, then you probably don't love players who use lots of effects. No one in the history of music uses effects as much as The Edge. Some people may think that doesn't reflect well on him but I am beginning to change my mind on this. The Edge is always experimenting with sound and searching for what he considers perfection. I have to respect that. While I am not into all the effects he uses, I don't know if there has been anyone in rock history who has been able to use effects with the success that he has. In my opinion, he is the driving musical force of U2.

Jimmy Page-wow! I found myself sitting through the movie thinking "Jack White is better than I thought". "The Edge seems really driven". Then they would play some Jimmy Page lick and I thought "And then there's Jimmy Page who is on a whole other level." I don't always like how he played "at" the guitar but my goodness he was phenomenal. He had some interesting stories about working as a studio musician and how he developed the hunger to do his own thing. A true genius.

A very good movie all in all. Check it out.
