I was hoping to make a nice weekend of this by having my brother and some friends, all of whom I rarely see, come down for the shows like last year, but I guess we will do something else. Before I start booking alternate plans would love to hear from ANYONE with ANY info on this one way or the other. Would hate to set up some thing else only to have the dates announced after its too late.

It's still two and half months before the ABB end their tour. Anything can happen between now and then. I still think Atlanta will get a date. Maybe a "Big House" benefit thing. Keep the faith.

I can not believe the ABB will not play Hot Lanta for their 40th. They should play a run of shows at the Fox Theater to finish off this historic year in Nov or Dec. And what has happened to MOOGIS? They got us all signed up to watch the Beacon shows and now no other shows are being broadcast.

What's really strange is that there were 2 shows at Chastain that were showing as TBA and I was hoping those would be the ABB shows but so far nothing has been announced. The other guess is James Taylor who usually plays a coupla of shows at Chastain. I no longer see the TBA shows so I guess they are not happening. We'll see. I will be at the 2 Bham shows and maybe the Knoxville show.

Well I guess Butch's concept of MOOGIS has being something that would introduce deserving "jam band" artists kind of when "out the window". In addition I feel that MOOGIS didn't make enough during the Beacon run to cover cost to record more shows, which is why ONLY the Beacon shows are being shown. One has to remember, that to set up and dial in MOOGIS propertly is probably somewhat time comsuming and expensive, which is why in the orginal concept that Butch wanted a series of clubs and theaters that book artists that a MOOGIS audience would be interested in, to be aready wired and set-up for MOOGIS. Could have been an idea that worked, but I think for variety of reasons the timing was off.

I still see the TBD shows, which have slightly different prices so probably not the same band.

And Reed, spill it mister! Why oh why does everything ABB have to have so much mystery to it?

IMO those 15 Beacon shows alone were worth the initial $100.00 payment. I have watched some of the shows multiple times and watched many more clips of shows. I will be sad when it's gone in Oct. I hope they do it again next year for the NYC run wherever that ends up.

Moogis subscriber here. I thought that the Beacon shows were the only ones that were confirmed as available for broadcast via Moogis. Was some other announcement made indicating otherwise?

Axeman, I am as frustrated as you are bro, it is TIME to hear something.

I am definitely aware of the possibility of going to B'ham and am considering it but it will cost a bunch more time and money than seeing, hopefully, a couple of Atlanta shows...I am lacking in the time department with a newborn at home. I also just know as soon as I commit money to shows in Alabama that they will announce an Atlanta date and there is no way I will miss that so I will be out even more money, and even though it will all be a blast it would be nice to save some cash.

Kreedham, you hearing something about just one or multiple shows? "Maybe a nice surprise", I am leery of this, a nice surprise for some is another's pain in the *ss...read ABB with Dave Mathews in Piedmont Park, unfortunately that was a good idea gone bad...50,000 people, height of summer, not enough pissers or vendors, not enough volume for the ABB, large amounts of talkative d*uche bags, not my favorite ABB experience.

RyanBelair - nice to hear someone with the same sentiments/problems regarding the lack of info. I have two kids under the age of 3 and will be lucky to see them even if they do play Atlanta.

Also agree with you 90% about that Piedmont Park show (I had no problems with the crowd, facilities or heat). Even though I am sure the ABB did not vote to have their set turned down, it was a MAJOR problem at that show. I was right under, as in reach out and touch it right under, the speaker tower at midfield and I could barely tell you what song they were playing. When the event you go to is predicated on sound and they turn the sound down to a inaudible level ... it kinda ruins it.

I digress.

Look, the ABB have no duty to say one way or another whether or not they are playing Atlanta but I am just surprised and disappointed that there has been NO info as this kind of info is usually generously shared all the time on this site. Sure I would be surprised and disappointed if they didn't play Atlanta, but I am not going hold it against anyone or throw a hissy fit. It would be nice to get some kind of update though.

I guess I will just assume there are no dates.

....hate to leave such a sour-sounding post so I will end with this:
Check out the Piedmont Park show on Moogis, the sound is great and you finally get hear how good that show was on stage!~

I have no insider info, but I just believe they will do two shows in Atlanta at the Fox.
Maybe I'm just a dreamer, but I believe that. No way would they leave Atlanta out.
They are saving them for last!!!

Thanks JP, hope you are doing well.

Axeman, I was closer to the stage than you at Piedmont in '07, we were within a couple hundred feet of the soundboard, to the left (as you looked at the stage). So it was a pilgrimage to get a beer or take a piss plus the 30 minute wait when you got there. Getting back to our spot was a task with all the blanket nazis...I had no problem with people having blankets to sit on, but when you throw down 3 of them for 6 people and act like you have just staked a claim in the new frontier and this is your god given domain and there is a problem if I step on it as I come through the crowd, that is when I get pissed...I had to be talked out of rolling and cramming people's "domains" up there respective ass*s on several occasions. If they would have shut up and listen to the concert they would not have been worried about their blankets. Anyways that was my frustration. You are right it was nice to listen to the show on Moogis, great Mountain Jam reprise on there.

Kreedham, throw us a bone please, we won't hold you to anything being correct, some speculation and possible insight would be nice.

I read a recent interview (Can't remeber exactly, but I think it was a Derek interview), that said the band was touring into November. I haven't seen any Nov dates posted yet, so maybe it's forthcoming.

sheep,

Derek meant "his" band, dTb. Already dTb has some shows set up for early November. I still think the ABB will add an Atlanta date(s) the weekend of Oct 23 -25. After that this year's tour is over. Btw, people can forget about the ABB doing a show over the Halloween weekend has the Mule is up in Philadelphia on the 31st.

Sheep,

The interview you were talking about was an interview with Warren. I didn't know to read the comment that "...the band was touring into November..." as they are touring through October or are actually going to have some dates in November. When I read it I took it as they were touring through October because I knew, as Sibwlkr pointed out, that Warren and Derek have dates set up in November. I am in agreement that our best chance is the weekend of Oct. 23rd - 25th following the Fla. dates, but why all the mystery, announce the plans for Atlanta already if there are some.

Ryan

I simply REFUSE to believe ABB won't don't at least ONE show in ATL this year. And I find it odd that there haven't been any plans announced to play a 40th anniversary commemorative show in Macon....Back where it all began.

I believe there are GA shows in the works, but they can't spill the beans yet. That's what I got my buddy who's good friend works for the Allmans booking agent. Take it for what it's worth.

Frustrates me cause I would like to fly back for the shows and need to make plans.
