If Eric Clapton holds another Crossroads Guitar Festival in a couple years, here's some artists that'd be great who weren't at the previous 2 festivals:

Joe Perry
Richie Sambora
Bonnie Raitt
Brad Paisley
Chuck Berry
Mark Knopfler
Lindsey Buckingham
George Thorogood
Joe Satriani
John Fogerty
Keith Urban
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Jimmy Page
Lenny Kravitz
Los Lonely Boys
Neil Young
Zakk Wylde
Peter Frampton
Brian May
Otis Rush
Joe Bonamassa
Robin Trower
Ron Wood
Keith Richards
Ted Nugent
Travis Tritt
Pete Townshend
THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND!!!!
& of course, Clapton himself!!!!

There's other guitarists I probably forgot, but these are people in my music collection I was mentioning. & one's from the other festivals such as Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Santana, etc. could play as well.

I remember Eric himself saying [in one of the videos] that he wanted "great players/friends, and no A$$HOLES". that pretty much rules out nugent being invited, and a couple of others too.

I guess that would rule out Chuck Berry, too. Hmm, if it does happen, maybe Chuck and Keith Richards could get together for a version of Oh Carol.

Carlos Santana needs to be at the next one. I believe he played the first one, didn't he?
He wasn't at 2007. And one of the very great guitar players alive who doesn't get a whole lot of mention: Robben Ford. And one of the other greatest guitar players alive who doesn't get much mention: Larry Carlton. And bring back John McLaughlin. He's just UNREAL on the 2007 DVD.

Travis Tritt? Gimme a break.

Zakk Wilde? He'd get eliminated on the a$$hole standard.

Keith Urban and Brad Paisley?

If there is a Nashville picker (Vince Gill was awesome on that last DVD) that belongs there, it is Marty Stuart.

Some other cities that'd be great for another festival would be: Atlanta, Detroit, Memphis, Austin, or they could do it in Dallas again & do it at the Cowboys Stadium. That'd be awesome.

The future of blues/rock guitar: Davy Knowles, needs to be there.

Someone seemed to ask a question of Brad Paisley being on the list. He may be a "pop" country star, but he's one hell of a guitar player.

I'm pretty sure you have to be sober to be on the invited list also so I'm sure that eliminates several of those proposed musicians off the list although I have no idea which ones.

I always love Carlos, but I really love your nod to Robben Ford and Larry Carlton. John McLaughlin is just totally amazing.

Another great player is from right here in Texas, & that would be Bugs Henderson. He's a great player. He still lives in Texas, but has been playing for decades & is sort of under the radar. He'd be great for a festival like that.

Hey, Chuck is probably the most underated man in R & R History - and, yes one of the true badasses. Could whip Jerry Lee Lewis one handed. And face it, if you saw three guys walking down an alley (Warren, Derek and Chuck) I know that the 84 year old guy would be the one I'd steer clear of. Probably could even whup a drunken Dickey

Just a quick skim over of the list and I think it's safe to say Zakk Wylde would NEVER get invited to Clapton's Crossroad's Festival. Call it a hunch...

Actually, Zakk Wylde was invited to the first festival in Dallas in 2004, but couldn't make it because of shows with Ozzy. He was gonna be part of some metal clinic at the show, but it didn't happen. Brian May & Otis Rush were also invited, but they couldn't make it either.

I am told by a reliable source to expect xroads 3 in Chicago again in 2010. I was there
in 2007 and can't wait for another!

I'll have to admit that I know little of Paisley's guitar prowess, was just basing my comment on what I have heard on dreadful popular country music radio.

Wow, my apologies then. Well, if the Ozzy giving Zakk his walking papers is true then Zakk can show up at the next one.

I'm with you on this ,Hugh. I've seen Keith Urban a few times (the missus is a big fan) and he's very good.
