Did anyone here actually read the 117 page proposal?

Otie, please tell me your kidding man .
The thought of bein under the govt's eye for growing my own garden.Man thats kinda freaky to say the least. The lady in the video clip clearly said that the bill says A FARM.And that could be defined in many way's.I don't know how some can dismiss this kinda stuff as no big deal.I mean what else is the govt gonna have their all seeing eye upon ,before folks say THATS ENOUGH,HOLD IT !
If one will check at their local garden & seed supply they'll quickly find how hard it is to find non-hybrid seed's.I heard about this a long time ago, that it was coming down the pike as well. And sure enough, its here.A hybrid seed cannot be used for next years crop by harvesting and preparing the seeds. In other words ,its a one time crop. And why is this such a big deal ? Well its a big deal because you can't have a seed supply in storage for years of crops to come.Once that packet of hybrid seeds produces its crop ,ITS OVER ! And your outta seeds.Something else to check into is the shelf life on seeds these days aswell.
Its really hard for me to grasp how so many can make so many excuses for whats happening ou there.

Luke, it's just as easy for you to believe something as it is for someone else to not believe it...

Go see "Food, Inc." and tell me we should leave the current system alone.

Nope. When I read JPB's 'no more growing tomatoes in your backyard' comment in his initial post the BS detector started going off...

I read through a lot of that bill and no where did I see that it referred to anything about growing things in your own garden. I seriously doubt local farmer's markets are included anywhere either as I didn't read anything that pertained to that situation.

I agree that with all of the suspicious food making its way into the stores more things need to be checked. I've gotten where I read labels to make sure I'm buying foods produced in this country. It's very revealing.
