I often wonder if Garcia were still alive, would he have played a more active role in supporting a candidate. From the books I have read about the GD, he seemed pretty much against such efforts. I am sure he had his opinions, but he never seemed to voice them, which was probably in keeping with his role as reluctant leader.

I've wondered that too. He always is portrayed as being apolitical, but if everyone else wanted to do it I'm thinking he would have gone along, but who knows.

I saw the Dead a half-dozen times this year. They play great music (albeit a bit lackluster this past Spring). I don't care if they are 'wishful thinkers' politically. Music is derived from emotion as is support for the likes of BarryO. Logic has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

Winning what? I'd take 5 hours of Drums/Space over watching all those youtubes that do all of your thinking for you.

Do you have Grayfolded? This is the double disk that spans Dark Star from 1969 to 1993 or something like that. Was that really necessary? I am a sucker and actually bought it. Its like 48 hours of continuous Dark Star. Sometimes I think 5 hours of drums and space might be enjoyable after listening to that!!

I bought that CD back when it was new, shortly after Jerry died and any product remotely tied to the Grateful Dead had runner's legs. I even listened to it. Once. I think.
