Something big is stewing out here in Live Oak.Live Nation was more than happy with Wanee. Who would not be if you were a promoter. The week before Magfest a festival is going to be announced. Its big whatever it is because I was told to get my site extended a week earlier if I came in like I did last year.

7 Festivals are being put together for Spring 2010.......Wow adding 3 !!!!! I have no idea what will be here but this place will be rocking.

The one that is being added in October has got me stumped. They will have a hard time getting the place clean again in 3 days. I was told that I would be extremly happy?

The last Wanee put this place on the map.I thought there were to many people but its all about the money as you know when it comes to promoting.
A & G (j) Productions is another who is stepping up
Anway see you at Magfest,Bearcreek and the unknown?

not good news in my opinion! Hurry and get your Magfest tickets ASAP, I think they might still have some for $100 according to the email I just got from Beth.

Magmusic put SOSMP on the map a long time ago. Beth and Randy should get mucho credit and not Live Nation in my opinion!

I agree with you. Randy and Beth have did it all there. Live Nation on the other hand is the largest promoter in the USA. They made big money. Bad mix!

Even the evil Live Nation didn't ruin last years Wanee festival. It was a beautiful event and if they keep it going like that, I'll be more that happy. Just keep it small enough to keep the Philly mafia out!

I know its hard to schedule things sometimes but I hate to see festival stacked up to the point where people have to decide which one to go to. A week apart is too close! I also realize its business and one organization doesn't owe the other anything but stepping on each other's toes isn't cool! Other than the scheduling though, I'd like to see more events there. I'd like to see a real blues festival there again, that first BB King fest there was great!

I got an email this morning from a friend in FT Lauderdale who is a distibutor of alcohol. One of his contacts is the RedHook Brewery guy who has been part of Wanee since the first one and he is negotiating with Live Nation right now. He said the Wanee dates will be April 8-10th. Easter is on the 4th.

Wow I hope your friend is right. We have no clue how lucky we were that it rained at Wanee. It has been brutal hot in Florida.
The worst in 25 years I have lived here.

Rain...Rain...Rain....Rain.....Rain....Rain....Rain....Rain....

Get the picture

yes Wanee dodged a bullet this year and got lucky that it did rain all weekend. The very next week we had hundred degree temps for several days here in Tallahassee.

It's pouring rain again right now!

hmm Willie Nelson the weekend before Magfest... is it a farm aid concert maybe???

My friend Bryan from craftbrewers.com just sent me this email...

My earlier Wanee dates were incorrect, the event is April 15-18. We had a meeting with LiveNation yesterday and the contract will be done by the end of September.

This is even better - not on Easter weekend.

I heard they are supposed to announce the Willie Nelson Show this weekend, but AEG is putting it on, not Live Nation.

AEG vs Live Nation. Battle of the Titans.

Easter falls on April 4th in 2010 so no problem there.

Me too .....

Dodged a bullet this year. Camping was nice and cool. I don't expect that to happen again....
