Also on 8/1/73 was the second gig at Roosevelt Stadium with the Grateful Dead and the Band. A Watkins Glen reunion of sorts though without the ABB. A great show worth seeking out.

I was there. Fantastic. I recall being in the front and singing "Happy Birthday" to Jerry. He loved it. One of my top two shows. The other was SNACK @ Kezar Stadium in March 1975 during my only visit to San Francisco.

I remember seeing the Dead in Ventura in 1983. The second show was on Jerry's birthday. We all sang Happy Birthday to him before the band started playing. It was a real kick!

Gov't Mule did a nice second set last night featuring three Greatful Dead songs. They started out with 'Stella Blue' solo Warren followed by the whole band doing 'Patchwork Quilt', Warren's ode to Jerry and then 'Sugaree'. They closed the night with a passionate version of 'Morning Dew'. A great night of music and a nice birthday tribute to Jerry!

Happy Birthday Jerry!
