just wondered if anyone on here had ever followed the ABB on a tour before like fans of phish or Grateful dead have done.I never had the time or money to do it but sure would be fun.

Seem to recall reading about a Beach to Peach (or Peach to Beach) tour that had Miss Lana and assorted others following along on tour one year.

Back in '79, I went to the shows in...San Diego, L.A. and Oakland. I remember three things pretty clearly.. Getting out of a speeding ticket heading N on 5...because the officer asked me "What's the hurry?"..and I told him "My 3rd Allman Brothers Band show in 5 nights, the final show is in Oakland where I'm meeting some friends"... Got a warning...

Dickey broke a string on "Statesboro" in '79 and Dan Toler finished the intro..

And I clearly remember being able to predict the set list in Oakland. That was the one "Bummer"... the same songs each night. But the crowds went nuts.

In '73, I went from RFK Stadium to Watkins Glen, with a one month layover at home.

This year, I'll be going from Holmdel to Camden, with a one day layover.

I believe it was 1975, I was at the Jimmy Carter benefit show in Providence, RI and then we traveled to Madison Square Garden for a Thanksgiving night show.I have the newspaper ads and clippings. There is a picture of Gregg and Jimmy Carter on stage @ the Providence Civic Center. The opening band was Grinderswitch !The best seats went for $8.50 @ Madison Square Garden.

Yes - and often.

But, usually no more than 4 or so shows in a row, more likely 3.

....BTW, ABB doesn't seem to play any more than 3 nights in a row....so that's usually the limiting factor.

Only once. August 3, 4, and 5th, 2001 - Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta. Great experience, but it felt good to be home after four nights on the road.

I've done it a few times over the years, 2 or 3 shows/cities in a row. It was certainly fun and worth it! Not sure I could pull that off these days.

a few times through the years... ABB 79 ( Houston, Detroit, Chicago ) 89 (PGH, MD, NY, NJ) 92 (PGH & Cleveland), 99 (SPAC, GSAC, Beacon, PHL) ...GAB 82,83,84,85,86 ( Once i road the tour bus from cleveland to chicago and lost my a$$ to -=DDT=- playing poker... we joked it would have been cheeper to fly) and...

last summer, when I finally got a vacation (4 weeks ... first vacation in 6 years)
I saw Dickey in Buffalo, Rochester, Schenectady, Woodstock and somewhere in Northern NJ... very nice trip, indeed. Visited Baseball Hall of Fame, Duanesburg, Yasgur's farm, Letchworth State Park, (willie) Perkin's Tower Bear MTN and a few other sideshows between gigs. 6 shows in 7 days
