Anyone ever been here before?

Just wondering what the capacity is, and if there is a lot?

Tonight is the show.

We saw DTB there a few months back. The place is not very big at all. There is a bar on a little terrace to the back in the main theater with the stage. I am pretty sure the floor is sloping towards the stage so GA should be good in terms of being able to see more. I am not sure what the capacity is but it is a relatively small venue. A few bars in town there in close walking distance.

Overall, I am thinking a real excellent place to see Mule tonight!

Mule were great last night but you can keep the Wellmont Theatre. The sound was muddy and pretty damn bad for the first set in the orchestra, especially Warren's vocals. It was better upstairs for the second set. Very good setlist tonight and we got 'Inside/Outside Woman Blues' as a second encore which was cool!!

Did I mention how much I HATE driving anywhere in Jersey!!! I'm willing to bet that whoever was responsible for creating those highways and placing the signs and creating the jughead turns was dropped on their heads as babies.

Sixty,
I agree, the sound was terrible, esp the vocals. Great set list, & I was so looking forward to it. Oh, well.

I was in the balcony the entire show, and agree that the vocals were too low. However, the sound has been excellent for all other shows that I have seen at the Wellmont, including dTb and GA and Friends. Is it possible that this was a mixing problem? It's too bad because Warren's vocals are normally so strong and clear. STILL had a great time. ABB shows are next!

I thought the show was excellent. Tons of fire and energy and great Warren innovation on the medley's.
Not sure I can see I agree with the sound of the vocals. Mainly b/c I was propped by the stairs close to the bar area. It was generally just load in that area with chatter and movement. The GA was just packed in there.

The St. Stephen medley was sick!

This was the 3rd show I've seen at The Wellmont and I REALLY dislike this venue. Since I like to have a seat, i opted to buy balcony seats, was told at the boxoffice that we should get there early as the seats are first come, first served. Having been there before, I know that the loge area, technically the first 3 rows of the balcony, are pretty much the best spot to see the show. The further back, the worse the sound/view. Stood in line for quite a while. Doors opened, I ran upstairs, only to find 70% of the loge section taped off as "reserved". I was the first person up there, but had to sit in the far side of the second row. It was a good seat, but the entire front row and all of the center sections were "reserved". Even after the show started, people weren't allowed to sit in the "VIP" section. Just extremely lame IMO.

As others have said, the vocals were very muddy, especially the first set, as were Jorgen and Danny from where I was sitting.

The show itself was great as usual. I enjoyed the new tunes. Great to see Jorgen finding his way. Definitely more upfront than Andy and I like that a lot. I'll be interested to see how he progresses with the band over time.

Warrens vocals sound great and the setlist is outstanding, hope Atlantis City is as good.

Just the sound in the orchestra Sue. The music didn't sound terrible and the band was cooking on all cylinders from the get go but Warren's vocals were definitely muffled.

Speaking of vocals, I'm already a bit concerned how they'll sound at the Brewery tomorrow night. I've never been to this venue but can sort of picture it as I've been to the Brewery itself. I have a feeling they'll be "muddy" in Utica as well. We'll see (or hear) soon enough.

Can't vouch for the sound as of yet ,,,

but you folks might want to check out the Gallery page that saranac has up
they have photos and such from other recent concerts at the venue
Ie: Blues Traveler, Moe, Rusted Root, Keller Willams and Dark Star Orchestra

a bigger stage set up than I expected ...

It's a large outside courtyard w/ a few picnic tables
and they did mention that chairs were welcome ...
