So Im listening to this Donovan box set I picked up from the library and the song Universal Solider comes on. What a great song. I really like Donovan as the folk singer more than Donovan the psychedelic rock. Any way its all good. Any other fans?

I liked Donovan quite a bit.

I bought the Greatest Hits album when it first came out...with "Colours", "Catch The Wind", "Jennifer Juniper", "Mellow Yellow", "Sunshine Superman", "There Is A Mountain", "Wear Your Love Like Heaven", "Hurdy Gurdy Man", "Season Of The Witch", etc.

Looking back, it's amazing how many "Hits" (or songs that got fairly extensive radio airplay) he had.

In High School I bought his then new album Cosmic Wheels great album...used to get a never ending adolescent laugh from the legendary song "Intergallactic Laxative".

I own the 2 CD version of that box set I think.

I love Universal Soldier, Hurdy Gurdy Man and of course "Mountain" ..

He did have a great run of worthwile hits back in the day

I got to see him live back in 1984 and he was just great!

And you haven't lived until you've heard Intergallactic Laxative live. (Yep, He played it).......

i had on CD the album FROM A FLOWER TO A GARDEN which is probably rock/pop's first box set. I think it contained two LP records and a whole bunch of posters and booklets. I wish I still had it! Hmm if its on CD I'm sure it won't be half as elaborate or attractive as the record set.

Isaac ~ I *LOVE* how you dig into all the older music & just catch that wicked groove that too many others your age miss out on!

Great song for someone to cover. The lyrics are too obscure for today's listeners; maybe an instrumental....
