Gregg Allman & the Hour Glass

Below are the actual scans of the record. Near mint condition. These things don't grow on tree's. Good memorabilia investment.

After the HourGlass with the original line up left California and Gregg returned to finish out the contract, they put him with another band and called it Gregg Allman and the Hour Glass. This record was Liberty's attempt to launch Gregg as a solo artist while using the Hour Glass name. Duane, Johnny, Pete and Paul aren't playing on the record.

I'll start the bidding at a very conservative $40.00.

Auction will run until 10:00 PM Central time Sunday July 26th.

Check or money order made out to Randy Stone and sent to me and I will forward to Randy and ship your record to you. Or email me a copy of Paypal pmt receipt when paying directly to Randy.

Nice.

Does it come with something to play a 45?

Ha, I can easily record this 45 to a CD and include that along with the record.

I know I have a bunch of ABB promo 45's & some jukebox EP's somewhere. Got them from an old time ABB collector literally decades ago. They were in VG condition for the most part, I never played them. I'll take a look around, see if I can find them.

If there's any interest please post here and I'll put up an auction if I can locate them.

JCB, some perspective, I bought this Hour Glass 45 off Ebay 10 or so years ago. Someone a few months back posted in a forum here with a link to this same Hour Glass 45 on Ebay that sold for a lot more than the current high bid of this auction. I don't know what you have stored away, but I think it would be worth your while to check it out. Just my 2-cents.

I'm not going to bid on this, but I would love a CD of it and I would be willing to make another donation for the CD. Possible?

Capricorn white label promos. One side mono, the other stereo. I hear what you're saying, but it's probably a moot point because I can't find them. I did come across a couple of other interesting items. More tomorrow...

<btw Tom sorry for hijacking your thread, figured the vinyl folks would be stopping by... Jim>

I'd love to say yes , but in fairness to the bidders I don't know if someone is bidding on this due to scarcity of the music or the inherent collector value of the record itself or both. Maybe after the auction ends you can PM the high bidder and let me know.

UPDATE

I just learned the following from someone in the know.

"After the HourGlass with the original line up left California and Gregg returned to finish out the contract, they put him with another band and called it Gregg Allman and the Hour Glass. It's not an audition record, but rather Liberty's attempt to launch Gregg as a solo artist while using the Hour Glass name. Duane, Johnny, Pete and Paul aren't playing on the record."

I don't want to mis-represent this record. It's still Gegg, it's still rare and if you follow Ebay it is still valuable to collectors.

Deb, if you want to retract your current high bid, no problem. I'm sure it will still be bid on. Sorry for this late info after the bidding had started.

Is this a different version of D-I-V-O-R-C-E from the one on the Hour Glass album?
