My dad has recently informed me that they've found a tumor in my step-mother's left lung. She goes in for a biopsy next week, so I'll know more after that. Please include my step-mom, Dixie, in your good thoughts and prayers. Dad and Dixie have been married 39 years and she just turned 72 this month.

Now, a few minutes ago, I have just found out that a former co-worker at my previous job, and now a current customer of the business I work for, has been diagnosed with liver cancer that has already spread to his stomach. Chris, my former co-worker, isn't much older than me and his kids aren't much younger than mine. The last time we spoke, in early May, he was telling me about a ministry/charity he's involved in that puts kids with disabilities on horseback. He is a hell of a nice guy. This truly sucks. Please say one for Chris and his family, too.

God damn cancer effing sucks!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya Dave.

A friend of mine is currently in the hospital with an aggressive form
of colon cancer. They are going to try one last round of Chemo if
she can handle it. If not, then it is off to hospice.

She's in her mid 30's with 3 small kids. My buddy is beside himself
because it wasn't until Feb that something appeared wrong and here
it's July and she's o her last legs. Barring a miracle, not much hope.

Eff'g Cancer

I sincerely believe a lot of this horrible disease is caused by what's happening with our food sources and the environment. I can't think of anyone I know whose life hasn't been touched in the immediate family by cancer. My favorite uncle in the world is in his final few days fighting this disease. It's breaking my heart.

I hear you Dave. Positive vibes for your stepmom.

Everyone has been touched in some way by this miserable disease. I have lost my dad and numerous aunts and uncles to various forms of this disease. My best friends girlfriend who is 52 is facing a lung removal operation next week because of it.

I talked to a regular poster on here tonight whom I have hung out with numerous times who is recovering from a tumor on his or her stomach wall with radiation seeming to work so far. The big C is way too frequent anymore. I lost my cousin Curtez earlier this year, the first of my generation to lose a battle with cancer, and spent time with his widow and family a couple of weeks ago. Thoughts your way, Big Dave.

Three years ago, the Doctors found a large mass wrapped around my mother's
large intenstines. When they opened her up they found the tumor to be BENIGN.
All during the operation my dad, my sister and I sat in the waiting room and
prayed our faces off. PRAYERS ANSWERED. Mom's alive and kicking today.
Don't know if your step-mother's tumor has been classified benign or malignant yet,
but I pray she gets the same outcome as my mom.

Best wishes to Dixie.
