Ok my friends!
Picked it up at Best Buy this afternon and have been watching it for the past hour or so.

I skipped around a bit just to see what was on it...glad I did!

The damn DVD is incredible really! Truly well done! The sound is phenomenal... bright, balanced, focused, PERFECT! You can almost hear the flesh of Dereks fingers rubbing on the strings, thats how good the clarity is! Its like your standing in front of the amps but better.

The music is obviously the focus but the lengthy interview portion of the disc is so heartfelt, entertaining and interesting to an ABB fan you will find yourself glued to your TV. Everyone is so open and honest about where the band is today, the history, the problems they have had, the bands unique chemistry etc. Gregg talking about his addictions and demons and how his life has been completely transformed is really emotionally moving. We are gonna be talking about this thing on the forum for the next couple of weeks I'm sure, maybe more... The is backstage stuff is really really funny...catching the band in some candid moments...really nice.
Also, Warren and Derek performing "Old Friend" backstage in the dressing room like 2 old bluesmen going at it! Worth the price of admission!

Just an incredible piece of work!

Well I'm gonna go watch the rest of it now! Go get it and report back!

peace
buddies

I got mine a little early, so I have seen the whole thing... Really, truly, the interview segments go beyond what I can imagine. What a great feature. All seven of them get equal time and all have interesting things to say. I really have to say they all have great attitudes and are in the right frame of mind. They all seem to be loving it too... And to top it off, it rocks musically. I have to say this though, I burned the audio to cd, so I could listen to it separately and I think I enjoy the live disc better without the video. Now, don't get me wrong, it's great to see them, there needs to be more video documentation of this band, but it's just mixed so well that when you're listening and focusing soely on the music, it blows you away. I don't know, maybe the guys make it look so easy...

I picked it up a while ago (LONG LIVE BEST BUY!), and I can't wait to head home and check it out... These reviews sound amazing, but I'm sure it'll sound even better than you guys are making it seem!

There are a lot of crowd shots, even in the bonus material. I was wondering if any of them were any of you... I don't talk with you all personally as much as you do with each other, but I read here just as much and I feel like I know you all well. It would be neat to put faces with names, especially if they were on the DVD!!!

Haven't spotted anyone from here...yet! I just noticed they show the crowd big-time coming out of the doors, walking through the lobby and getting some reactions from them...gonna keep my eyes peeled. I'm sure I'll find a couple forum / GB people.
I overheard one guy on the way out saying something to the effect of: "The only other show that was anything close to this was a Dead show".

Linnie, I wasn't in the front row...JodyGirl and I were about 3-4 rows back (on the first night...she went both nights) and a bunch of lawyer/account type guys (who got loose and removed their ties!) were in the rows in front of us...I couldn't quite figure that one out...the second night is where some of the women in the crowd were sporting the "Women Prefer Haynes" t-shirts. I hope there's a shot of two of them. I know the camera was shooting in our row a time or two. Otiel was wearing his necklace that Karen (BigSixPH) gave to him...she was at the show as well but up in the loge. I think some of the guys wore different clothes on different nights...can you tell?

I got mine at Borders (I was apparently the first person to get one, since all copies were still in the back). I've watched most of it, and I'm really blown away. The visuals are great, and there are some excellent performances. The dressing room Old Friend is a big time treat. There's not much I wouldn't single out for praise... Change is Gonna Come sounds great (Emily and I saw the debut of this song, but this is a better performance - Gregg seems less nervous and appears to remember several verses we didn't hear). Same Thing with the horns is also great, as is the Derek Dreams (!) and High Cost, which ends with some sounds from Derek that are absolutely gorgeous. There are some great closeups during that one, too. I still have 5 songs left to see, nevermind repeat viewings, but this is really amazing.

I have to go to Syracuse to get a proof book for the August wedding I shot. Maybe a quick trip to the mall is in order. I could have ordered from a cheaper source, but the credit cards are still smokin' from the summer road trips.

And we have Mule tickets for the Landmark in October.
