Update 11/28/09

All of the Beacon CDs are now in stock and we will begin shipping Beacon Boxes this coming week. We should be caught up on all individual orders for shows except for those ordered in the last few days. Thanks again for your patience and supoort of this project!

JNB

Below is the original post:

Hiittin’ the Note and the Allman Brothers Band would like to thank each of you for your order and your admirable patience regarding the delivery of the 2009 Beacon Theatre CDs. A number of things are going on behind the scenes that have caused this process to take longer than expected. First, each show is being carefully remixed and re-mastered. Given the huge historical significance of these 15 concerts, more time is being invested in creating the best possible sound. Second, these CDs are being replicated instead of duplicated – giving you the highest audio quality possible. Third, working with all 62 guests who appeared on these CDs has taken more time than initially thought. Fourth, there are some additional band issues being addressed.

Because of all these mitigating circumstances, delivery of this once-in-a-lifetime package has been unavoidably delayed. As soon as the Allman Brothers Band tells us that all the issues have been resolved we will pass that on to you via another post/e-mail.

In the meantime, the Allman Brothers Band, Munck Mix and Hittin’ the Note will be busy preparing the best-possible sound and packaging for this 40th anniversary collection. We have continued to refine the design of the actual Beacon Box and we are creating a CD booklet with pictures, liner notes and set list from each night. Again, thank you for your order and your patience, we apologize for the delay and look forward to updating you soon.

JNB

Thanks so much for the update. The fact that they are being replicated and not duplicated is worth the wait for me.

One huge concern about what you just posted though..."Fourth, there are some additional band issues being addressed." Maybe I'm reading too much into that line, but that doesn't sound good.

So no estimates at this time unfortunately, right?

I'm only speculating here, but I would be surprised if these get released long before moogis subscriptions are done.

Well that would be really bad news, but I am very excited about the update and the fact that the final product will be superior to what we originally planned to receive.

Thanks for letting us know what is going on

Are you saying Butch will hold this up until October so that he can get the max money out of Moogis then give the ok to release the CD's once that has run its course?

I am totally speculating, but those two ventures seem to be in direct conflict with each other, don't they? Isn't it odd that HTN has barely advertised the Beacon cd's while Moogis continues to be all over the HTN site? The shows are being remixed, discs being carefully pressed, announcements made, song rights being secured, and money has already exchanged hands with customers, so I don't think there is reason to think these won't see the light of day eventually, but if Archive 6 is any indication, sometimes the band changes HTN's mind. Again, this is pure speculation on my part, I have nothing to back it up.

Seems to me that the time to resolve any "band issues" would be BEFORE you take people's money, not two or more months AFTER.... But what do I know...?

Of course i hate the delay, but this sounds good. A better quality product and i love the idea of liner notes and photos. i'm all about some packaging (why i can't do downloads).

The suggestion that the 'Band Issues' is Butch delaying the releases of the CD's until after the Moogis have finnished is abhorrent. The brothers have always been a people band. In perhaps my niheivety I would like to think there are genuine issuses for the delays. Should it be proven that they have been delayed for sinical reasons, a great majority of fans will be hurt and sceptical of outlaying substanicial amounts of money in future. I hope people from 'Hittin the note' are reading the posts.

Please believe me when I say that Hittin' the Note feels very awkward regarding these delays. We hope it makes for a better quality product but we do not like holding your money for this long and will offer immediate refunds to anyone that request them. We are doing the best we can with what is in our control. However, when it comes to mixing, mastering and manufacturing - that is all in the hands of the Allman Brothers Band. We trust that they are doing the best they can and that the end result will be worth the wait. We will let you know of updates on this project as soon as we hear about them.

Thank you again for your order and your patience,

JNB

Thanks again for the update.

I think most people realise this is not HTN's fault. However, the fact that it lies in the hands of the band doesn't inspire confidence that we will see these being delivered any time soon.

Half the band have their own projects which keep them busy and the other half? The half which has executive power over everything which happens? Well, that's where my concern stems from.

I'll keep waiting but the original hope that these were going to be released in a couple of months in the IL way of things has ebbed away.

still no update...sigh. At this point we are just trying to be patient and wait for the band to tell us what's up. It's the 40th year so I'm hopeful that there will be much to celebrate as we go through this year. The incredible Beacon shows, Mtn Jam, Wanee, and the West Coast performances were amazing. Having Moogis is just like being there! Hopefully the Beacon CDs will add to the riches that we are enjoying. Sure would be nicel if some other stuff came out as well...

Very cool to see Gregory mention his autobiography in Rolling Stone. He has led an incredibly interesting life...and is quite the story teller/wordsmith. I'm sure it will make a great read.

It is our hope that all remaining issues with the Beacon CDs will be resolved by the time the band goes back on the road in mid-August. If that happens, it will take about 4-6 weeks for everything to be manufactured. Therefore a September/October delivery date is probable. If these issues are not resolved by the end of August we will begin issuing refunds. Hittin’ the Note and the Allman Brothers Band would like to thank all of our customers and fans for their remarkable patience during this process...you guys are the best!

It is a least nice to have an update. I for one would much prefer to have the CD's in November/December than have the refund. Better late than never. I may not have the opportunity to have Derek, Warren and Eric on disc together again.

The last issues regarding the Beacon CDs have been resolved and we are a go on this project! As soon as we have firm dates on manufacturing we will post them.

Awesome, it's rare that I look forward to handing a lot of money over to someone, but I'm cool with this.
