I inquired about the Beacon show that I ordered and got the response below via email, so who knows when they'll be delivered.

"If you are inquiring about the Beacons cds they have been delayed. The band decided to remix the
cds, thus causing the delay. We have no current date for release and are working on getting this
information to you as soon as we can. An email with be sent out shortly with updated information,
we thank you for your patience. "

I can't help but wonder if this isn't somehow tied to the band releasing some of the material themselves? If they're planning to release a certain version of a song on a CD or DVD, do they want to mix it for their own project first, then put that same version on the presold CDs so they can't be compared to see what was edited?

Anyone have any thoughts?

I wonder if it doesn't have to deal with rights to songs/artists, since there are so many other recording artists and songs that made it into the rotation during the run. Shows from the beginning of this month are scheduled to be released at the same time as the Beacon shows from three months ago, so the lack of news and updates regarding the shows makes me think it is something they just don't want to discuss with consumers/fans.

But then again, who knows? It could be anything, we could speculate all day. Or month. Hopefully we will hear something soon and these won't go the way of Archive #6, which apparently, has been archived.

I know this subject has been beat to death, but continuing to read about this really solidifies my belief that someone dropped the ball on this. The key to an "instant live" is the speed in which they can get it released. I know we are all huge fans and will probably buy the discs regardless of how long it takes, but I have to believe for every one of us, there are 25 more casual fans who would have bought a disc or download a week or two after the shows, but by now have moved on. I have trouble believing the ABB would be releasing some of this on their own...otherwise, why would they pay the money to Munck Music to be at the shows and record them, if ABB was recording them anyway? The artist/song royalties make more sense to me....but even that doesn't make a lot of sense because they always play covers and have guests, and that doesnt seem to have delayed them in the past. My only other thought would be Moogis vs. Munck debate. Not sure how Moogis worked, but in theory it seems like they would be direct competition.....or else they are working together to mix and master a DVD with the Moogis video, and Munck audio. But if thats the case, why wouldnt they just tell us that? That would at least get us to shut up!

An official update would be really nice at this point. I paid my $100 down two months ago.

Personally, I think this is the greatest news ever. I would love the whole run to be remixed into perfect sound... Especially since I'm planning on dishing out a lot of money.

It was a historical run and I did have a bit of a nagging disapointment in the back of my head that although the overall live mix was great, especially all things considered, that some of the dynamic was lost on certain nights when say one of the drummers was lost in the mix, or the bass was not loud enough, or the guitars were uneven.

Kudos to them... I hope this is true and we get a phenomenal sounding set of cd's.

Not so much concerned about the money, but I agree, with all the people waiting, they should be updating more often and giving specific reasons for the delay - not just the band's mixing it.

The HTN webpage still says late June...however if that has changed they really should update their page and let the people know who paid. If it improves the quality of the sound, I don't mind a delay at all, however I do like to get updated.

After i bought last years Summer Set and had problems with the discs and delays on getting replacements etc...,I held off on buying any of the Beacon shows fearing i would run in to problems.
After reading this i'm glad i did.
I personally think there is a lack of communication between Munck & HTN.
Hopefully they will get it straightened out.

The guys from HTN do a great job.

They were all over the place justifying the much-criticised cost when these were announced.

But they are nowhere to be seen on any of the many threads asking for some news.

Will these go the way of the Duane box-set and Archive release #6? Sometimes it's hard being an ABB fan!

The folks at HTN do a wonderful job, which makes the lack of updates even more baffling. Not just updates, but promotion - I remember getting an email or update about the Fox Box every week and those were just three shows.

I agree, they do a great job...in fact, I ordered a t-shirt with my cd's and the DAY I wondered if they would ship it separately or hold it to send with the CD's, it arrived at my house. It's why I wonder/suspect that the issue isn't with them, but a bigger picture thing.

Dammit, I just want the Clapton show I was at.....is that asking TOO MUCH?????????

I agree HTN does a great job. And although I do believe there should be an update, the fact that there is no update makes me wonder if there aren't too many things going on that they're not sure what's going on.

I'm sure we'll get details as soon as there is something to report...

Actually they could say "due to unforseen circumstances the delivery of the Beacon CD's have been pushed back to ___________. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for anyone and we are working really hard to get this resolved."

You can always give an update even when you can't share the details.

I think it's great they're remixing the cds! And have no problem at all with the delay.

That said, it probably wouldn't hurt for them to send out an email with a quick update to let people know, though. Putting money down months ago and having them charge your card only makes you want the product in hand. I think a little update now and again wouldn't hurt (even if it just says "we have nothing to say but we're still working on it")

Love the peeps at HTN! They do a wonderful job for us

I'm guessing "end of June" delivery is not going to happen. Hopefully we will get an update this week.

My summer 08 tour shirt (that I ordered and paid for in August) arrived in Nov. of 2008.

After three phone calls.

I don't believe that anyone here is attacking the HTN staff. Most who care know that they are a small number of very passionate folks who love the ABB's music.

That being said - someone needs to "MAN" up and take some responsibility. If you credit cards were charged in April - customers have the right to know when they will recieve their merchandise or can have the option to cancel their orders.

As time goes by - your credit card consumer rights lapse (which is not fair). I believe I have the right to know roughly when my product will be shipped and if I want to choose to wait or ask for a refund.

Not acceptable to keep delaying shipping. What is appears is that the advance orders are self-financing the re-mix which is not right. If that is what would have been proposed - that would have been one thing.

People have a legitimate right to be uncomfortable about open-ended delays. If they are going to ship six months from when I ordered - I should have the right to decide if these terms are acceptable to me or not.

.

Hiittin’ the Note and the Allman Brothers Band would like to thank each of you for your order and your admirable patience regarding the delivery of the 2009 Beacon Theatre CDs. A number of things are going on behind the scenes that have caused this process to take longer than expected. First, each show is being carefully remixed and re-mastered. Given the huge historical significance of these 15 concerts, more time is being invested in creating the best possible sound. Second, these CDs are being replicated instead of duplicated – giving you the highest audio quality possible. Third, working with all 62 guests who appeared on these CDs has taken more time than initially thought. Fourth, there are some additional band issues being addressed.

Because of all these mitigating circumstances, delivery of this once-in-a-lifetime package has been unavoidably delayed. As soon as the Allman Brothers Band tells us that all the issues have been resolved we will pass that on to you via another post/e-mail.

In the meantime, the Allman Brothers Band, Munck Mix and Hittin’ the Note will be busy preparing the best-possible sound and packaging for this 40th anniversary collection. We have continued to refine the design of the actual Beacon Box and we are creating a CD booklet with pictures, liner notes and set list from each night. Again, thank you for your order and your patience, we apologize for the delay and look forward to updating you soon.

JNB

Thanks for the update and all of the hard work you guys do at HTN, JNB. I know it is only because everyone is so eagerly awaiting these epic shows that we are getting antsy - just good to know the wheels are turning, even if slowly. Now I know what it would have been like to have Christmas delayed as a kid, but at least we all know it will happen.
