Saw this was on PBS and thought a few folks might be interested:

Neil Young
Don't Be Denied
Neil Young ~ Video: Live at Massey Hall 1971

A resolutely private artist who seldom looks back, Neil Young has never before unfolded his career on camera. With unprecedented access to one of the world’s renowned music legends, American Masters presents Neil Young: Don’t Be Denied premiering nationally Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 9 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings). The film explores how Young’s unbending dedication to the muse has created an awe-inspiring body of work and bruised a few egos along the way

Told in Young’s own words, the film weaves hours of exclusive interview, shot in New York and California, with previously unseen performance footage from the star’s own extensive collection. The documentary also features long-time collaborators Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, David Crosby, Nils Lofgren and James Taylor.

I'm definitely interested (love Neil!). Thanks, Jeanne - will be somewhere up a mountain on the 10th but am keeping my eyes open for a repeat of this.

I'd encourage everyone to check local PBS listings. I could swear I read this in my tv listings for TONIGHT not next Wednesday.

I've long had a boot DVD of Neil from Germany with much of the footage that is on the Massey Hall DVD. It's ok. The actual show, though, is phenomenal and totally worth getting on cd. As for the American Masters, they usually do a great job, so I'm looking forward to this!

Wow...the talk about Charlie Manson..."yeah I knew the guy...he wasn't so much a song writer as a song spewer...when he got rejected for making a record....Charlie didn't take rejection well.

God Love Neil Young for being faithful to his Muse.

Watched it last night. I thought it was great. I love his style of staying true to the music. I thought it was hilarious when Geffen records told him to make a "rock n roll" record, so he essentially made a rockabilly/Elvis type album. Careful what you wish for!! The whole thing about Manson was insane, and the Devo footage was great. I always like them for some reason.
