A totally different set list from a couple of months ago, which is not the norm for him.

This is a radical set list change for him. He usually only makes minor changes, and
not very much as the tour progresses. Hanging out and jamming with Derek for a year, and now with the Brothers @ Beacon might have influenced him.

Only time will tell. Anyway here is set list from first night in Dublin.

01. Going Down Slow
02. Anything For Your Love
03. Key To The Highway
04. Old Love
05. Hoochie Coochie Man
06. I Shot The Sheriff
07. Driftin'
08. Lay Down Sally
09. Not Dark Yet
10. Anytime For You
11. Somewhere Over The Rainbow
12. Badge
13. Little Queen of Spades
14. Before You Accuse Me
15. Wonderful Tonight
16. Layla
17. Cocaine
18. Crossroads (encore)

Is that "Not Dark Yet" the Dylan version? If so, interesting choice, and a great song.

Wish he would come south now that he plays southern rock!

That would be a Jeff Beck influence... Jeff does a killer version.

I was definitely surprised when I saw the set list as well. It is more of a reflection on Andy Fairweather Low, his second guitarist, then on anything. The guy just does not compare with Derek or Doyle. No slide, no blues background. Really disappointing. Not a fan of nearly any tour that Andy has previously done. EC played a sit down laid back version of Somewhere over the rainbow as the encore in the 2001 and 2003 tours. Both with Andy Fairweather Low....

The reference was to Ector. The thread asks if the ABB influenced Clapton. I thought maybe there had been some conversation between he and Derek about Bill, or maybe something had come up during Beacon rehearsal. May be no connection, just random.

While the subject of Clapton and the ABB is on the board.... I thought I would say that like the ABB's "Ramblin' Man"... Eric's... "Wonderful Tonight" is a song I could do without.

Agreed. I have been at several shows when Eric did this tune, and the consensus from the audience is that they realy like the tune. Fortunately, it is a short one.

The Skydogs have requests for WT sometimes as it is a great belly rubbin' tune.
I think Duane influenced Clapton more than he admits.

Got tickets for EC and Steve Winwood here in Columbus, in about 5 weeks or so. Can't wait. I'm assuming they'll be doing a set similar to last year's shows and the live stuff being released.

Lay Down Sally...not one of favorite Clapton tunes also.
On the slower side of things I really like the tune Let It Flow. I really thought 461 Ocean Blvd was an excellent release with heavy Duane influence in the music. The CD gets a couple of plays a month.

It was the encore on One More Car One More Rider Tour in early 2001.

He closed most of the shows with it.
