I guess we all go back on our word from time to time. (I don't want to believe this, but..)

I'm really curious to know if Bonnaroo did not invite the ABB back this year (possibly due to the Brothers last minute pull out last year)?

Or, more likely the case, the ABB went back on their "promise" to return to the Roo next year (2009).

Although the lineup is better than any other big fests, the Roo certainly could use a little more star power (VIP and GA tix are still available, usually sold out this late in the game), so I gotta believe that the Roo big wigs would have invited the ABB back and welcomed them with open arms.

Any ideas from someone who knows? Or possibly in on the decision?

And the Mule playing a late afternoon set of a whopping 90 minutes? Wass up wit dat?

90 min Mule set? That blows!

They usually do at least 2 hours at the Roo

the roo of today is not what it started out as. they've become more and more mainstream and less jam every year. my guess is that ABB wasnt asked.

Who needs 'Roo when you've got a Wanee lineup like this year's???

I guess I don't remember the guarantee. I doubt the Brothers would be asked and not go so they probably weren't asked by Bonaroo. They haven't been every year.

I believe it was here on the main page that they stated that they were sorry for having to cancel but would "see you on the farm next year" (or something like that). It was definitely implied that they (the ABB) owed Bonnaroo one.

As far as Mtn Jam and Wanee, good lineups to be sure. But seems like the same big names every year, not that there's anything wrong with that. The smaller bands, well, a number of them play the Roo as well.

Personally, I enjoy the wider variety of choices that the Roo offers every year, as opposed to the smaller, less varied, more repetitive lineups. Bonnaroo offers more chances to find something new and exciting. (I just noticed that the Wanee ticket prices are pretty much in line with Bonnaroo prices, about $75 per day)

I was hoping someone in the know would respond to the original post, perhaps our fine mediators here at HTW.
