In the wake of Billy Powell and Ean Evans untimely death, skynyrd is going on tour with this guy on keyboards, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Keys and from the bottle rockets, Robert Kearns on bass. their new record is entitled "god and guns". written with marilyn manson side-man guitarist john 5.

I don't wanna sound cruel but to me LS is a nostalgia band resting on their laurels, at least the Allmans keep evolving musically.

What would Jesus do ? Sounds like Skynyrd converted to radical Islam.

I guess we all ought to be thankful we can still see all these rejuvenated bands live. Nothing can replace the originals.

"Gary Rossington Band" won't sell any tickets. Even though that's what it is. The only good thing is that the families of Ronnie, Steve, and Allen get their piece first. I'm not sure what Leon and Billy's estates deal is with the name being used. I was lucky to see the original band as well as Rossington-Collins. Prime Time indeed.

Very sad about Ean. From what I've recently read, he was well respected and loved.

The lineup going on tour:
Johnny Van Zant - vocals
Gary Rossington - guitar
Rickey Medlocke -guitar, background vocals
Mark Matejka -guitar
Robert Kearns - bass
Michael Cartellone - drums
Peter "Keys" Pisarczyk - keyboards

Robert Kearns played bass in Cry Of Love back in the early 90's. He's a hell of a guy and a really good bassist...I'm happy to see him get a good gig after all these years.

Now I can't really say because I don't know what the album title actually refers to, but it seems to be a complete 180 from the good old days of Ronnie's band.

Hard not to judge this book by it's cover,
but this guy was a well repected studio guy before MM. He's also a huge collector of vintage Telecasters
