I've been listening to their first 2 albums the last 2 years or so and hadn't had a chance to see them live. Got the opportunity to check them out in Philly at World Cafe Live last Tuesday. Absolutely GREAT performance. They are a bluesy/folk/soul/funky acoustic duo of sorts. Chris Wood, bassist of Medeski Martin & Wood fame, on upright bass, vocals, and harmonica. His big brother Oliver, who played with an Atlanta-based band called King Johnson for some time, on vocals and guitar. There is really something to be said for musical family chemistry. They sing and play their asses of. Just high quality music.
If you get a chance to see them in your neck of the woods, GO.

I first saw Oliver Wood many years ago when he used to play in the Tinsley Ellis Band. Oliver lives here in Atlanta and I see him from time to time, most recently in a wonderful performance at Bhojanic Indian Restaurant.
