I am also hoping for this and it is ironic because I just posted a thread about this on the Moogis message board about an hour ago!

On 1-28, Butch said this:

We are only streaming the Beacon run. The cost of taking this kind of video production on the road for one niters would be huge. There was never a plan nor did anyone ever say anything about any shows past the Beacon run. We will stream them live and archive them for six months.

But, Wanee is a "two nighter", right?

Yes, but he said for one nighters. Festivals are two or three whole days of music and many of them were streamed on different sites last year. Lots of exposure for many bands. I think i-clips did Mountain Jam the last couple of years. It would be nice for Moogis to stream Wanee being it is an ABB festival with two full sets by the ABB and many other great bands. I think this would be a good thing if Butch is still trying to get more subscribers.

No John. I'm not a big fest fan (even though I did just do Merlefest!). Also, a tad too far for me.

I hope they do Moogis for Wanee, but there is no evidence they will. "We are only streaming the Beacon run" seems pretty unambiguous to me.

I posted a thread about this on the Moogis message board and Butch posted this back.

quote:
We put together the budget for Wanee and it just cost too much to do. We would need 50% more subscribers than we had for the Beacon just to break even. Just couldn't make it work. We will be looking at several other venues during the tour that we may do. Stay tuned.

Too bad they didn't get enough subscribers for that. I'm willing to bet that even current subscribers would be willing to pay an extra fee as long as it was reasonable. I know I feel like I already got my money's worth from seeing the whole Beacon run and having it until October. I would have been willing to pay say another $25.00 in order to see Wanee streamed. Maybe that still wouldn't have made a difference. I wonder how all of the other festivals like Mountain Jam get streamed every year?
