Just walked in from night # 2 in Milwaukee at the casino to see Greg Allman and his band. The theater is a modern 500 seat theater with famtastic acoustics. The 2 shows were not advertised well and both nights had small crowds there. I got up late on the first night and did not see the show. I did meet Gregg afterward at the Hilton where he and the band were staying. He said after the first show he liked the theater but the crowd was a yawner, as he put his hand ti his mouth and yawned.

We arrived 30 minutes before the second show and a few people were hanging out trying to sell tickets. Tickets were $75.00 and the day of the 2 shows they reduced them to $50.00. So as we looked around a man walked up and asked if we needed tickets. As we said yes and were going to make him an offer he said, here you can have these. They were seats in front of Gregg at a table.

We walked in and looked around to see 100 or so people inside the theater with 10 minutes to the start of the show. I looked in the balcony where there are 3 rows in a half circle and there were 10 people up there. We sat down at our seats in front of Gregg's B-3 and waited for the lights to dim. As I waited I went to the balcony and set up my tape gear. The PA facees the balcony more and it sound fantastic up there. I just taped the Dickey Betts show there 4 weeks ago. So Gregg and the band started on time and played about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Gregg remarked a few times howe great the crowd was and thanked us for showing up numerous times. They played a real energized set and seemed to really be enjoying playing together. There were just a couple of minor endings and transistions along they way. Over all the show was terrific. Even though Gregg mentioned more than once, "We need to rehearse". After the show the small crowd seemed that they had been treated to a wonderful night with the Midnight Rider. As the roadies hit the stage to take thing down I was able to get Greggs personal roadie to hand me Gregg's setlist off his keyboard. I also have one terrific tape from dead **** in center in the balconly. It is to bad the the ABB have such a stupid policy about no electronic trading live shows on the bit torrent sites. I would otherwise be able to share this gem with the world. Here is the setlist direct from GA's setlist

I know how this is going to sound...and Yes, I already have my seats for the GAB show at Humphrey's by the bay in San Diego in July...

But damn... This is the SAME set-list the band has been playing for what seems like forever.

How about a little:

Mess up a good thing
Let this message be a lesson to you
Need your love so bad
Come and go blues (acoustic)
Can't get over you

We also said the same thing as we walked to th car. With all the great songs Gregg has off his solo records why can't he mix up his setlists a lot more. The show was a lot of fun but as Greg said, "We need to rehearse". If they did rehearse they could be 1 incredible band. There are many many songs waiting to be played.

Perhaps, if you want to, you can vine or trade this show?
That is allowed.

Thats a huge hassell and out dated. It is just way to easy to swap shows on the BT sites. That way everyone gets it who wants it. I could have posted it today and everyone would have a copy already. But that is wrong according the the ABB rues. When will the ABB get with it? They have allowed taping for years, and now this is the best way to get their music out to the world and they say no. It is because they want people to buy their instant live cds and not trade those to anyone. That is years behind the times. Someone at ABB headquarters needs to reavaluate this whole thing and get with the hundreds of other bands that are all on the BT sites. It is a shame 2 of the greatest bands the Allman Brothers & Hot Tuna are so anti BT sharing their live music. Even Govt Mule & DTB allow BT trading. Why don't they talk to Butch & Gregg and tell them how great trading shows that way is for true fans?

I saw the GA&F show in January and drove to Virginia to see him because he hadn't
announced any Florida shows. I also went to see his show in Tampa. He drew a pretty
good crowd for that one. Both shows were fabulous!

I think Gregg should play more where folks know and love him, Florida's West Coast.
People don't know what they are missing.

He added "I'll Take Care Of You" this year. I love his version of that songl But then I loved
alll the songs he did, even though I've seen him several times in rhe last two years..

I'll have to agree w/ the sameness of the set lists.

I'll still be at the show the next time Gregg comes around but with a bit of effort the band could put together an almost entirely different set.

If this show was vined I'd probably skip it, heard it all before

He didn't play Just like a woman at Belterra Friday. He drew a pretty good crowd there, a showroom at a casino. He played Multicolored Lady,I almost told the constant talkers behind me to shut up during that. And played a song that I'd guess was called Alimony. i

It was a good show other that the talkers behind me

I was there the first night (Saturday) the main floor was totally full but the balcony was only 40% full. I'm guessing 350-400 or so people in attendance on Saturday night. So much bigger then the Sunday night crowd.

Not exactly real sure wtf he meant that the Saturday crowd was a yawner looked to me like most everyone was pretty appreciative and clapping their asses off.

Our own LEGEND walks out onstage and there are 100 people in attendance? OUCH. And to think that Britney Spears sold out HP Pavilion in San Jose a few weeks ago..........that's right folks, she lip-synched to a sold out 20,000 seat hockey arena. But then, it's always been that way...............some of the greatest jazz shows I've ever seen in my life had 30 or 40 people in the audience. The masses are clueless idiots............that what makes coming to this site special, and why I keep coming back.

PS: I read a review of Britney on the San Jose paper the next day. At her first break in between songs, her first chance to address the audience, she says, "What's up, Sacramento?!!!" That's right folks..........HP Pavilion is in San Jose.

It's all cause I wasn't there. Really wanted to make those shows but had a serious conflict. He should have stopped in Chicago on the way. We so love him here.

Hi Julie, it is kind of a head scratcher as to why they would book 2 nights at Northern Lights Casino in Milwaukee and then skip the third largest market in the country Chicago all together.

You know, I can buy the setlist argument for a run like the Beacon, but for a band touring a different city every night you're still hearing a song for the first and only time. What does it matter if they played it every night, you didn't hear it. Want to be surprised, don't read online setlists. Even if there are two nights, does the audience repeat? Seems to me, diehards that would go twice would also know to expect the same songs.

Hey GAF,

I think you missed the point. Not talking about the same setlist for one tour. It's been basically the same setlist for years. How long has Floyd been in the band? I'll wager that every single show they've played "Back to Daytona."

There are certain songs that Gregg has to play, you'll get no argument from me there. But, as stated above there are so many other gems, both solo & ABB, that should be dusted off.

Just my two cents, don't mean nuthin'

A beautiful version of "multi-colored lady"+ "melissa" w./ a flute!?-Now that's cool! WAtching Gregg stretch out ona white electric guitar on "Whipping Post " was extremely different+Cool-do ya ever see him play electric w./ the ABB? IF anyone knows of the Allmans doing mid-west dates this summer-let me know-looks like for the 2nd summer in a row they are skipping Wisconsin!
