Was going to put this comment in the Liz Reed thread in response to something, but figured it needed its own thread.

I was at the 3/26 and 3/28 shows, and while I've never really been partial to listening to the bass guy when going to shows, I have to say that Oteil was just really awesome in that last week at the Beacon, and I know others have posted about it too.

Listening back through some of the shows, Oteil single handedly got the band back on track after the 3rd verse of Hungry Woman on 3/26, just powered them through it.

Just about everything I've listened to, he's been right on top of it, solid as a rock, with a ton of heart, just outstanding. Big ups to him.

Major props to Oteil!!! I also loved him opening the 3/20 show solo with Little Martha! It was so beautiful!

Oteil really shined throughout the whole run. I have a greater appreciation for him after the 40th Beacon Run! Oteil Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oteil is an incredible musician. His version of Little Martha is very special and certainly one of the highlights of this years Beacon Run. My only complaint is that I wasn't there in person to hear him play it......but Moogis helped look after that for me. That was on the 20th, but the March 21st show was on another level that was an incredible performance. The Tone of he has been getting is just beautiful.

the energy he adds on the bottom is unreal. The more I listen to him, the more I'm impressed.
