When washing and putting dishes and silverware away, do you rotate them, as in place the one you just used on the bottom so you don't always use the same plate, bowl, fork, spoon over and over again?

Same for towels.

Or is it just me?

These are the things I wonder about.

Oh my... You do need a vacation, don't you Don? Wanee will be here soon and there are lots of us that can answer those questions for you there!!!! Take a deep breath and keep using that same plate, towel and spoon - no rotations necessary - just wash them every once in a while

LOL Don!!! It's everything I can do to keep up with the washing ... everything gets put back in cupboards and drawers and closets clean and whatever my hands touch first gets used next time around.

I have a silverware dump drawer ... no liner, no nothing ..
just a tangled jumble of metal alloys. Life is too short......
My plates, bowls, and cups seem to be caught in a triangle
of table, sink, dishwasher. Rarely enjoy any shelf time.

I use one fork, one knife, one spoon and keep them in a glass on the counter top.
I have one large Chinese soup bowl for steak and rice and whatever.
Everything else gets paper plates.
I reuse cups from Sonic.
My dishwasher is probably frozen up from lack of use.

I don't use a dishwasher. I like to hand wash dishes.

And no, there is no "rotation." I wash 'em, rack 'em, and put 'em back on the stack. Which isn't very big, as I have four each of a few different plates and bowls by Corelle.

I have no dishwasher ... well aside from the manual two-hands-and-a-dishrag.

to save time & work given how busy we all are,i've been begging my family to do this--each person gets a set--you use it you clean it up...really cuts back on the house work load, but my family refuses to participate & they think i & my ideas are nuts! Don't you guys agree--it's a great plan & Jon,you have my respect for actually doing this!!

Thanks you.
I usually eat frozen pizza most of the time anyway. I cook it first though.

There are five residents of the Droog hotel at the moment, six every other weekend. The kitchen is usually a wreck. What really gets me is when every ****ing "eating bowl" is dirty and they'll start eating out of stainless steal mixing bowls and tuperware containers, etc. Or when ever plate is dirty and they'll eat off of serving platters or metal pie tins.

Burns me up. There've been more than a few rants on this very subject in recent weeks. I can't wait until they grow up and get the **** out!

Gaaaaaa!

Can you tell I've been under a little stress lately?

The melt in your mouth method !

Droog....throw everything away except one complete serving set for each person.
Padlock the tupperware and mixing bowls.

That's a good idea y'all. Have each poerson responsible for his own mess kit makes sense to me.

My ex-wife would put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. When there was nothing left in the cabinets she'd run the washer. I'd wind up pulling plates out of the dishwasher and handwashing them to have something to eat on. I tend to wash things by hand as soon as I use them.

My sister came for a visit, and after she left, I couldn't find some of my dishes. For several weeks I wondered what happened to them. Then it occurred to me that she might have put them in the dishwasher, which I never even open. Sure enough, there were my dirty dishes.

I always tried to pick up the waitress too, this way if I did have some dirty dishes I'd have a working dishwasher.

Half the time all my 8 dishes are in the sink, so I do try to grab from a different level when I wash just one for dinner...............

I am the only one in the house who can load the dishwasher.

Both boys can unload it, and sometimes actually do.

The wife complains when I run it and it isn't full, but since I'm the one paying the electric bill and buying the dish soap, who cares?
