Big snowstorm in Denver, thought that I would do some indoor spring cleaning and organizing this morning. Instead, got sidetracked and Moogised all the IMOLR during the Beacon run.
Thought going into my "Liz test" that the intensity of 3.26 or 3.12 Page & Trey energy would get my vote. The Stanley Clarke sit in was a little too disjointed for me although Brecker's horn and White's layer added much (Silent Way doesn't count). In a mild upset, at least for me, the Hornsby sit-in on 3.21 garned the top spot.

That being said, they all were different and fantastic. What a band.

Discuss.

Eric playing on Liz was one of the highlights for me.

I don't quite understand the scoring though.

Was just burning copies for some folks here over last weekend and I was struck by how good that 3/21 Liz with Hornsby was!!! Really over the top! Also like the 3/20 version.

One more vote for Trey and Page here - thought they blended in well on all the songs they sat in on.

I just went back and listened to the 3/21 Liz and it gets my vote. Not only is it a treat to listen to but the Moogis camera work is great as well!

wow.

I was there for both 3-12 and 3-14............very different takes on the same song which is why E-Reed is what it is..........complex and subject to interpretation.

I am going to pick 3/12 only because it gave the ABB more of the song than the other incredible version.......less cluttered plus Jaimoe.

In A Silent Way...........perhaps my favorite "jam" song of the whole run.

yeah I am a jazz head.........and having Randy and Lenny was kewl.......especially Randy Brecker,
